Five Problems With the NIH Sponsored Study That Claims 'More Deaths' From Treating Coronavirus With Hydroxychloroquine
PJ Media ^ | 04/23/2020 | Matt Margolis

Posted on 04/23/2020 7:24:37 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

On Tuesday, the results of a study on the benefits of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for the coronavirus were released. The study analyzed the impact of hydroxychloroquine with and without the antibiotic azithromycin and compared that to patients receiving standard care. The study found there were "more deaths" among those given hydroxychloroquine than those who just received standard care.

As you could expect, the media pounced on the study. The Washington Post,  CNN, Salon, TIME Magazine, and plenty of others were just itching to claim that Trump had been wrong or even irresponsible for touting hydroxychloroquine in the first place. International Business Times even wrote: "Trump's Hydroxychloroquine Caused More Deaths, Study Reveals."

But, if you actually read through the reporting, even read through the study itself, it becomes clear that the media, which was quick to downplay or ignore earlier studies showing the drug worked, were too quick to hype this study's findings. Here are five problems with the study that should give you pause before you turn your back on hydroxychloroquine.

5. It was a small, non-peer-reviewed study, not a clinical trial

Previous studies showing the promise of hydroxychloroquine in treating the coronavirus have been downplayed by the media because they were small studies, not large-scale clinical trials. This study was not a controlled clinical trial, but an analysis of medical records, and it hasn't been reviewed by other scientists yet.

3. The most severe cases disproportionately received the drug

2. Other studies and anecdotal reports suggest it helps

1. The study concluded that controlled trials are still needed

I think Fauci is owned by big pharma. He is not concerned about our best interest.

It’s almost as if the “STUDY” was DESIGNED TO SHOW HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE IS DANGEROUS & NOT EFFECTIVE. No governmental doctor/employee would ever do that, would they.

To stop the return of manufacturing of products back to the US that went to China. China backers here who’s family members are making millions from China through their political connections will be hit hard are also claiming that Trump’s alleged stock ownership in a quinine pills maker claim its a controlling interest in a product to be totally ineffective and when used requires a severe restriction of movement when near a possible carrier known as a shutdown because of its rapid transmission .

NIH crapped in their mess kit on this. Their reputation is starting to swirl down the toilet.

Again, no mention of Zinc. Here’s Dr. Zelenko’s successful procedure.
___

Unlike the conventional method of admitting patients to the hospitals, Dr. Zelenko’s approach is to provide treatment to patients before their situation gets worse so they don’t have to be admitted into the hospital. His approach is to provide treatment to people so that they don’t have to be put on ventilators. His out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:

1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days

2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days

3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days

This study was sponsored by the National Institute of Health, and the results were released by them.

Yet the study itself was limited, not peer-reviewed, and ignored other positive studies.

So why was it released at this crucial time in the debate over HCQ, when the releasers knew it would slant the debate against HCQ?

Answer: Maybe the NIH, too, has an agenda to make Pres. Trump look bad ... just sayin, based on what’s happened

This was a VA study so we also don’t know the impact of previous vaccines, medications and exposures. The median age was around 70 so many would be Vietnam era soldiers. Did the get a lot of this medication when they were in theater to prevent malaria, were they exposed to toxins such as agent orange and what vaccines were they given.

I would think all of these could impact the immune system and response to medications. We really don’t know why this medication appears to work so how it interacts with other things will not be understood for a very long time.

This. We have a media that knows nothing about the virus and everything about grabbing a salacious headline and hating Trump.

1. it was a retrospective study of several doctors’
care of patients in late stage

2. the HCQ group were older, black, obese smokers.

3. the HCQ group had lower lymphocytes (worst
prognosis)

4. it is anecdotal and cherry picked by those who
created the virus and plan to impose their vaccines.

NIH gave funding to Wuhan lab during Obama administration, with Dr. Fauci in charge. I don’t trust NIH at all.

“3. The most severe cases disproportionately received the drug”

Yet the results were -
“A total of 368 patients were evaluated (HC, n=97; HC+AZ, n=113; no HC, n=158). Rates of death in the HC, HC+AZ, and no HC groups were 27.8%, 22.1%, 11.4%, respectively. Rates of ventilation in the HC, HC+AZ, and no HC groups were 13.3%, 6.9%, 14.1%, respectively.”

The HC group were the immune compromised group (known to be the vast majority of the most severe cases) versus the healthier group (more likely to have lessor symptoms). It looks like a huge win for HC and especially HC+AZ.

Study missed the other two components of the trifecta — Zinc and Z-Pack. Expect more bogus studies like this. Late stage application, missing components, etc.

RE: Study missed the other two components of the trifecta — Zinc and Z-Pack.

Dr. Didier Raoult’s 1,000 person study only used Hydroxycholoruine plus Azithromycin and even then, it was successful.

From a Southeast Asia vet, we took chloroquinine every Monday with our noon meal. It was on the table (Officers Mess) and for the first two weeks, gave you the runs and then you took it for 4 or 6 weeks after returning to the States.

Also, according to the VA Secretary, these persons were at the end of their lives and no treatment had worked.

I think Fauci is owned by big pharma. He is not concerned about our best interest.

He's 80 years old. He should be concerned with enjoying whatever time on this Earth he has left.

(which he won't because he's now become Persona Non Grata everyplace outside of the Beltway).

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say the NIH is one of many orgs that got fundamentally transformed under Obama.

Another thing to put on the “to do” list.

At least now we have a better idea of who can be really trusted.

Dr. Zelenko is starting to adjust the dosage by weight. He said it makes no sense to give the same amounts to a 90 pound woman and a 300 pound man.
