Trump: 'I disagree strongly' with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he disagrees "strongly" with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp's decision to reopen some businesses in his state beginning this week.

"I told the governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, that I disagree strongly with his decision to open certain facilities which are in violation of the Phase 1 guidelines for the incredible people of Georgia," Trump said, referring to preliminary guidance the White House issued on reopening the country in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Now let me get this straight; Trump has nothing to say about Governors Wolf, Northam, Cuomo, Newsom, etc., with whom he's working "very closely," but one of his allies wants to get his state back to work and Trump openly criticizes him?

Trump needs to realize that the people who've been advising him on this coronavirus BS do not have his or the country's best interests at heart. They've been wrong by orders of magnitude since the beginning and they still are. Yes, coronavirus is real and it's deadly - for some, but if Trump wants to be president for more than four years, he'd better get his head out of his ass.

Since Dem governors will always do the exact opposite of what Pres. Trump wants, this statement will make them open their states faster.

I’m sure there’s more to this. I trust the President and ignore the media.

I thought he was leaving it up to the states to decide when they’re ready.

This is just Trump preparing for the coming onslaught from the msm, that no matter what it is, "IT IS TRUMP'S FAULT".

Since he {and we} knows this is coming, Trump is just getting in front of it, by riding on both rails.

Trump is playing the , "Heads I win, tails you lose" game, and doing it very well.

My impression is that the “re-opening” process in Georgia is going to be a mess no matter what the governor says. Much of the Atlanta area will probably remain shut down for weeks — if not longer — after businesses open in the rest of the state.

President Trump is pretty much forced to make a statement like this when a governor initiates a recovery plan that contradicts the Trump administration’s own guidelines.

It doesn’t mean the governor is wrong here, but it puts the President in a difficult position when he’s asked about it.

Even Fauci was muted in his comments so yes, Trump is gaming someone here.

And meanwhile, millions of people have lost their jobs - permanently, their businesses, their retirement, their homes and the things they’ve spent their lifetime building...

Since Dem governors will always do the exact opposite of what Pres. Trump wants, this statement will make them open their states faster.

Or, more likely, keep them closed longer.

There is more to this. :-)

There's context and subtext.

Trump is doing what he needs to do.

My impression is that the “re-opening” process in Georgia is going to be a mess no matter what the governor says.

It's some reopening following corona guidelines for social distancing and etc. Salons, hairdressers, barbershops must wear the protective gear and bowling alleys will probably have only one bowler per lane.

If this is not allowed, many of these businesses will close permanently. Businesses have ad time to adapt. It is time for those who can to use it.

Many businesses are failing as we speak.

Sigh....Trump still did exactly what he said he would do - honored the fact that it’s the Governor’s choice of how to handle it...if he had praised Kemp and a big blip in new cases happened, the feeding frenzy would be bloody.

I disagree strongly' with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp

A great 6pm TV news sound bite for the Trump base for the 2020 election. I'd hope we could get past the staged events and acts sooner than later.

Gov. Kemp probably was already on Trump’s mind after he put that dingbat in the Senate instead of Doug Collins. Now Kemp ignores the plan the White House laid out. I would say the criticism is well deserved.

If we don’t open our state is going to go bankrupt. Its time.

Yesterday’s virus briefing had a poison pill moment when Dr. Rosenstein(Fauci) announced that virus would be back this Fall. What else will be happening this Fall? The 2020 Election and the UGENT NEED FOR MAIL-IN VOTING!
