The President is moving way too slow! This was about keeping hospitals viable during a crises, not stopping every infection. Clearly, we are past the crises stage and we need to move quickly on the reopening. People are going to get infected, but the hospitals can handle them now.
I find Pence useless at these briefings. He never challenges the reporters? just throws out a lot of empty boring rhetoric in a preachers singsong style.

I stopped watching the briefings a while back. As long as the emphasis is on the virus, it is about keeping the lockdown going. Pence’s work is done, the curve has been bent, briefings have to now deal with recovery. Faci and Debra need to be sent packing. We are now prepared for any more outbreaks. We are not going to keep this nonsense going for another month!

You’re right, it will be more than another month. The “phase 2” that Birx and Fauci outlined is far away. And today the president said very little should open during phase 1.

Think of it , we’re almost at May 1 - 2 months since shutdowns started - and Trump said today it’s “too soon” to start reopening.
Fauci and Birx don’t want reopening until end of summer or later - and only partial reopening at that. Today Trump showed he’s scared to stand up to them
