With all due respect, the Spanish Flu second wave caused a lot of shutdowns across the nation in 1918. Schools, theaters, parks, and other public areas were closed and the population told to stay inside of their dwelling places.

This lockdown is nothing new and if pressed Congress has the Necessary and Proper Clause to do whatever because the Constitution has a lot of open ended allowances and “Clauses” left to a lot of nterpretations.

Where the heck did administration law come from in the first place?

” “to make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers,”

That doesn’t include shutting down the country and declaring martial law and allowing governors to become dictators deciding what businesses can be open or closed or where people can travel or move about or practice their faith.

If it was so easy to simply declare “State of Emergency!” and abandon the constitution, why have one? The founders would have never went for that.

He didn’t ‘dump’ on him....and who gives a flying fickle what or how the press reports. You’re giving the press credit for being the press....it’s not.... it’s a propaganda activist machine.

Again, please explain1918 and especially administrative law. Your idea of the Constitution does not match up to historic fact and current reality. Who
adjudicates the adjudicators? In this instance, the CDC, lol.

The Founders left a lot of open ended “questions”/clauses, hence the large central leviathan called the Federal government that grew due to Congress “creating”/passing their power onto adju”dictators” in their mounds and mounds of agencies that have enforcement powers. Do you know how many “rights” the OSS/CIA/FBI/ violate but have the blessing of all three branches because of the several open ended clauses which led to their creation in the first place?

Fortunately Trump is letting Federalism reign a bit. That has been the exeption to the rule since the late 19th century (Except during the presidency of Coolidge who tried to reign in what the early Progressive Presidents/Congress forged).

It’s tiresome to see such mutterings on this forum by people that appear to think they ‘know’ something.

In my youth, it was clear there are three separate branches of federal government and Congress is only one of the branches. So no, Congress can’t “do whatever”. It can ‘propose’, but ‘propose’ is not ‘do’. Only the President can ‘do’ but only if legislated by Congress and signed into law, unless there is an emergency for which cases the President can authorize and execute while still subject to the Constitution.

Excuse me for seeming to be ‘heartless’

BUT

A fireman gets hired to FIGHT FIRES
A policeman gets hired to KEEP THE PEACE (sorta)
An Ambulance crew is to safely transport people to hospitals.
A doctor is there to help people in need
A Soldier etc is to fight wars etc

IF they can’t/won’t/don’t do their BASIC jobs they don’t belong in that job.

I am too old etc but my basic instinct is still to run towards gunfire, burning building, bad accident etc etc but that is the world I was ‘raised’ in.

He just said he disagrees with some of the types of business Kemp is opening up now - but it’s Kemp’s decision to make....Oh NOZE! Some Govs will opt to not be stringent about the opening up guidelines and the President won’t stop them...

Not really. That would be admitting he is right.
The trend is to do just the opposite.

How do you figure? All they have to do is say they're following the Administration guidelines - at least two weeks of decrease in new cases and a robust testing program in place. The decrease could take a long time to achieve and they can blame the administration for problems with the testing program. They can stretch it out for weeks and weeks.

I figure that if PDJT says the sun rises in the East that the LEFT tries to say it rises in the West.

Whatever PDJT says, the left goes opposite.

SO, using their usual practices, if he says they are opening to early, they will open to spite him.

I would wholeheartedly agree with your comment if he had PRAISED Georgia for opening up, the others would slow it down just for spite.

It’s possible that Trump’s internal polling has him losing big to Biden on the topic of COVID, combined with too many people rating COVID as their most important issue. This is part of his corona reset — he caught it, recovered, and he’s learned his lesson. The doctors are tremendous, the best, and we need to listen to them. Pence was stressing that Trump listens to “the experts” during last night’s debate as well.

Just my guess. Trump has been pretty consistent this entire year on corona, acknowledging the danger of it but not overreacting. Maybe they’ve finally decided that remaining consistent isn’t going to help him as much as telling people what they want to hear.
