Notice that protests were not shut down in states where the protesters had rifles

"Did California effectively suspend the 1st Amendment? "

Yeah they did. What are people going to do about it?

Well it is a sub clause in the constitution that all rights are innate and God given until flu season.

Can folks protest not being able to get a permit to protest? Or would they need a permit?

Now it seems that Public Health Officials - who are not elected by We the People, as I recall - are running things? Do they make laws? Can they enforce them? Can we break them?

"...Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

We no longer consent.

It’s the “state capital” clause in the constitution.

No protesting, eh?
It’s probably against the law to poop on the sidewalk too, so?
Then again, maybe that’s legal now.

California has been a Police State for quite a while now, why is everyone getting upset now? Isn’t this what they have been voting for the last 30 years??

Remember, the Bill of Rights was for the purpose of restraining a government gone nuts.

And the majority of those rights can be found in the Constitutions of the original 13 States. These Constitutions ALL preceeded the Federal Constitution.

Try the Avalon Project.

It also gives a broader look at what was meant by the right to bear arms.

A single errant Trident missile could solve *that* problem.
