Timeline reset: CDC confirms weeks-earlier California deaths
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Health officials say two people died with the coronavirus in California weeks before the first reported death from the disease.
Santa Clara County officials said Tuesday the people died at home Feb. 6 and Feb. 17. Before this, the first U.S. death from the virus had been reported on Feb. 29 in Kirkland, Washington. The Medical Examiner-Coroner received confirmation Tuesday that tissue samples sent to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tested positive for the virus, officials said.

What it means, if true, is that the virus was here doing community spread in as early as January.
If so then the virus is spread way, way farther than anybody can guess.
The results of these antigen tests being done this week are going to be interesting.

This seems perfectly reasonable. Large country, why would they find Covid-19 if they weren’t looking for it? Of course, Santa Clara can be lying, but why? Could be CDC has contaminated lab too.

I don’t think this announcement is dunking on Trump as you say although most pieces in the MSM are written in such a fashion.
We do not know a lot about this virus. We did not know much about it thanks to China and we have clearly gotten many things wrong about it from the outset as have many other nations.
Our own experts have been wrong about a lot of stuff with this virus and it continues today. The two recent studies that show far more people have the anti-bodies illustrates that the virus was far more widespread than we thought prior to “lockdown.” It also shows that the virus is not as deadly as we thought - the key number our modeling was based upon.
Trump and the governors have had to rely on the experts throughout this crisis and the experts have not had a handle on this thing from the outset. China lied about it, spread it throughout the world even after they restricted travel from Wuhan in their own country, they did not share data about the virus for weeks, and they have generally behaved as a hostile adversary with the West in almost every way.
In typical fashion, our media will blame Trump, but it is pretty clear that China knowingly pushed a plague upon the world. His health advisors have been operating in the dark from the outset and their advice now appears to have been built on bad data and worst case modeling that did not come to fruition.
This thing is a mess and it will get messier moving forward with partisan politics, blame, recriminations, and continued hysteria. The best thing about the daily pressers has been that everyone in America has seen and heard the advice Trump has been given. There is a clear record of what we knew and when we knew it.
This thing is bad, but with hindsight in a few months I think it will be very clear that we did not know much about this virus and taking a “one size fits all” approach based on New York City was a mistake, but I won’t fault Trump because I heard the same information he did every day.
Also note that with earlier COVID-19 deaths they can claim that Trump sat on his duff for a longer period of time before doing anything about it.

Yet on Feb. 24, Pelosi was home in San Francisco and encouraged people to visit Chinatown.

Later Chris Wallace asked her about that, “If the president underplayed the threat, didn’t you as well?”
Pelosi refused to acknowledge any mistake, virtue-signalling her liberal sensitivity to “discrimination and stigma” against Asian-Americans.
They took samples because the doctors treating the first fatalities with this virus were perplexed. The presentation of Coronavirus is serious cases is very unique. Every doctor interviewed after losing a patient to this virus in the early thing expressed the same frustrations that traditional treatment regimes were not working.
Doctors are data driven and they want to know why so it is protocol to take samples and send them to the CDC. They also knew it was ravaging Wuhan at that time so they were watching for it.
The CDC is slowly working their way back to September when the deaths on the left coast really started. Take the first death in China and progress two to three weeks, and that’s when symptoms and deaths started showing up. I know this because I have common sense, not because I am a doctor or statistician. People travel ... so does the virus.

Pelosi was out encouraging people to attend the Chinese New Year stuff because the Chinese in her beloved Communist China couldn't, due to their virus. Thus, she was spreading the virus in San Francisco by her order. Her own Congressional district. Let's remind people of that every day. She is a witch.
As to hatred, I know it is a sin as is my anger and I am guilty. So I will not deny others hate if I expect the right to it myself. Wish I were a Mister Rogers type but I am not.
