C'mon; I know that politicians, and Democrats specifically, have less than no respect for the American people, but do they really think we're dumb enough to believe they're actually going to permit Joe Biden to be their candidate against President Trump?
Biden can't tell you how many fingers he's holding up while standing in front of a mirror. He is stunningly incoherent, a pitiful example of diminished capacity. Additionally, he's not far from being indicted for allegedly sexually molesting Tara Reade, his former aide.

Hillary will be entering the presidency through the backdoor. Does anyone think that as long as she is drawing a breath, she will be denied what she has craved her entire adult life?

Biden was never the intended nominee. Its a setup to replace him with Michelle (Michael) Obama during the 1st year of his presidency Can't we leave my nightmares to the hours when I am asleep?
Although I've been saying this for over a year now. Hope it never really happens.

There has been not so quiet speculation around the Capitol Hill dinner circuit that New York Gov. Mario Cuomo was going to be that candidate. I know the dead serve a useful purpose for Democrats when it's time to vote, but this is the first time I've heard of the DNC wanting to run the dead for President.

Same way they stuck with Wilson a hundred years ago after his debilitating stroke - from which he never recovered.
Good thing he lost.
As will Biden.

What precisely is the DNC mechanism for replacing Biden if he has the total delegates? His sudden health problems (cough, cough)?
Then Hillary, Cuomo, Sanders, Michelle O or Oprah. Or one of the retread debate losers brought back from the garbage dump (Warren, Harris....).

Democrats are sticking with Joe because he is a sympathetic loser. They know with absolute certainty that Trump will win the election. The Democrats may decide that their interests are best served by not having a Democrat in the White House until the Covid crisis is over and the economy rebounded. If they win, they inherit managing the vaccine and rebuilding the economy.
On the other hand, if Democrats concede 2020 to President Trump, they will lose the Supreme Court for generations, and the lower courts for even longer.
Their best strategy is probably to trade control of the House for control of the Senate. Since Republicans are in the same position that Democrats were in 2018 (defending 23 seats), Democrats retaking the Senate will effectively block Trump's conservative SCOTUS picks for two years (when Republicans again will defend the majority of seats).
That's probably going to be the plan. Biden in the Presidential race will be a misdirection to distract the Republicans from the true Democrats 2020 strategy of retaking the Senate.

If he voluntarily drops out, thats a different story. Problem is, if its after the convention, the ballots will have already been printed.
To: bert
I agree with your assessment. Bob Dole did not have a prayer against Clinton, but who else did we have at that time. Same situation for the Dims. Biden has all the delegates, a brokered convention could occur but Warren and Bernie essentially gave their delegates to Biden. For a brokered convention to occur it would mean that a majority of delegates were free to vote as they pleased in an open convention. That is not the case now. Why waste a future political star against a popular President. I could see Cuomo/Obama as a strong ticket in 2024 against a Pence/?. Remember Obama had very weak coattails. If Mochelle my Belle lost to Trump she would be damaged going into 2024. Keep in mind by 2024, voters in their mid-twenties would have been in high school when Obama was President. The fatigue this country felt regarding Obama would not be a factor in 2024. That and with any luck Polarizing Pelosi would be a thing of the past for Dims.

How could Dems stick with Biden as their nominee? Same reason they stuck with Adlai Stevenson against Eisenhower.
They need a designated loser.

The key will be his VP nominee. The intent is to just get him elected for a quick 25th amendment turnaround. That can't be the intent of anyone with a brain. The intent is to make Biden a placeholder (they needed someone to derail Bernie first), to be switched out before the election. There is not enough fraud to get Biden elected.

Whatever happened to that 'whitey' video that she/he was supposedly in at Wright's church? IIRC, people had seen it and it was going to be released but... crickets...🦗

It isnt about President Biden but about who replaces him within a year of the election.
And will be advised and operated by the DNC and Valarie Jarret thereafter.
