I like to be touched, a lot. I am an affectionate person. However, I like to decide who touches me and when.
I did not understand or have the words back then to describe how I felt, but only sensed power moves and body language that I did not like. There was not yet the framework as there is now.
I did not like Joe Bidens hand on me not for the reasons you think, it is because I am the alpha in the room too. Again, I like to be the one who chooses who enters my space and in what way.
We are sexual beings and we are all trying to figure out how to express this aspect of ourselves at work and home lives, it is a journey our society is on right now. But this is not a story about sexual misconduct; it is a story about abuse of power. It is a story about when a member of Congress allows staff to threaten or belittle or bully on their behalf unchecked to maintain power rather than modify the behavior.

For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, youve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what shes talking about is real.
attributed to Joe Biden
She still wants to be part of the power elite that rule us.
It’s not entirely clear what point she’s trying to make.
Seriously ?? Read the entire piece again, slowly and out loud.
... I am a loyal American and in the words of Lucy Flores, I was a Democratic foot soldier. I voted despite all my troubles for the Obama/Biden ticket twice.
And this is why sh!tbags like Joe Biden have no qualms about abusing their foot soldiers. Its also why some of us dont take your complaints seriously at all. I mean you actually reached out to a TED KENNEDY staffer for help? Have you ever heard of Mary Jo Kopechne, Tara? What kind of a jackass would work for THAT guy?
Thanks for that. I thought it was just early.
Signs of cluelessness:
A congressional staffer who considers herself the alpha in the room.
A model who doesn’t think she uses her looks to get attention.
A staffer who doesn’t know Ted Kennedy’s reputation.
Reads Noam Chomsky.
She’s an ALPHA also, and no one ever heard of her??? LOL!! She worked for a CREEPY JERK....how was she an ALPHA??
> She still wants to be part of the power elite that rule us.
At age 49+, single mother with a kid, a string of probably low paying writing gigs, with almost no up to date background in politics? I doubt she thinks of herself as a political powerhouse now. She does not seem to have much of a presence as a potential political candidate. She needs at least a local school board position, political spokesperson or reporter, or a successful small biz background IMHO.
Well then, perhaps small alpha fish in the biggest alpha shark pond in the world, perhaps?
An early draft of the article was probably titled “Ms. Reade Goes to Washington.”
I read the whole thing, too.
What would you offer as a brief statement of the thesis? “Powerful men are pigs,” perhaps?
Maybe I should have said, it’s not clear what point she’s trying to make that adds anything.
She’s a horrible writer.
It’s like a test to put the puzzle of her words together to make sense of the article.
She likes to be touched. But don’t touch me...
> you actually reached out to a TED KENNEDY staffer for help? Have you ever heard of Mary Jo Kopechne, Tara? What kind of a jackass would work for THAT guy?
First, she did not quite write that. She wrote that she went to an unnamed senator’s office.
Presuming your contention is correct, that it was Ted Kennedy’s office, then yes, she was naiive. However, it is not necessarily true that she did, but that the other senator’s office put someone from Ted Kennedy’s office to the task of taming Biden. From this article, we don’t seem to know for certain which way it was.
If you seriously get the point she’s making please tell us all because isn’t this the woman that claimed she was raped by Joe Biden and somehow that’s not even mentioned in the article?
She mentioned the Kennedy staffer here, but to be fair she didnt say she asked for that persons help. I have made some potentially incorrect assumptions by mixing up two different outside people who tried to help her.
Would it be fair to state the unsympathetic view as “pretty but manipulative girl with an admitted penchant for sex gets her denouement in the big city”?
Once in a while I meet a pretty girl who seems to realize and depend on her good looks to get her favors and stuff. It’s annoying and not very flattering to the human condition.
thanks, no problemo
