I remain skeptical, until there is verification of any news.
Also, being comatose is not the same as being brain dead. A person who is comatose still has brain function and can recover. A person who is brain dead has no brain function, and usually the body does not continue to function for long once its central command is gone, even if placed on life support. (Jahi McMath seems to be an exception; I think the fact that she was so young enabled her family to keep the body functioning for an unusually long period of time after brain death occurred.)
While I hope the news about Kim is true, I’m not getting excited just yet.

First of all, that’s Reuters. I generally wouldn’t trust most of what they say. Secondly, I don’t think that South Koreans want the world to know if Lil Kim really is dead. I think they know that something is wrong, but they are not telling the world.
Not only that, I think our intelligence community might already know if this is the truth or not. And I don’t think President Trump wants to throw any more gasoline on the fire of what’s going on here right now and is keeping quiet.
I suppose the same could be said for allowing Patton to blitzkrieg the Ruskies. Would have save tens of thousands of Russian lives from Stalin, Castro’s Cuba, no nuclear brink, no decades-old Cold War. Reagan finally got the job done.

A very good friend of mine went in for heart valve surgery when he was 73. The valve was damaged from polio he had as a child.
About 2 weeks later he called me and said he was doing great, could breathe better, had better stamina, and felt like a new man. He died the next day. His wife told that after he called me he told his wife he was tired and was going to take a nap. The next day she tried to get him to go to the doctor but he said he was fine, just tired.
My point is even in the best of care, heart surgery, or any surgery really is very serious and the outcome is not guarenteed.
Nasty, Joe and Kim will have so much to talk about.
He is kind of young for cardiac surgery.
