BARR: The FBI Is Playing Games With Gun Background Checks
Daily Caller ^ | 04-20-2020

Posted on 04/20/2020 12:53:34 PM PDT by Liberty7732

or more than two decades, the system codified in federal law for ensuring that persons prohibited from possessing a firearm are not able to lawfully acquire one from a licensed firearms retailer has worked reasonably well. Since 1998 when the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or “NICS,” became operational, the FBI has completed hundreds of millions of background checks on prospective gun purchasers; 28.4 million last year alone.

For some reason, however, the FBI recently has taken to playing games with NICS, and by bureaucratic fiat ignoring or overriding an important provision in the law. Neither firearms purchasers nor retailers should stand for such skullduggery.

The provision at issue is that which permits the FBI to place what amounts to a “hold” on a prospective firearm purchase, in order to allow the Bureau time to determine if a particular purchaser falls within one of the several categories of persons not permitted to possess a gun. Under the law establishing NICS, with the FBI as the “go-to” agency, that temporary “hold” is strictly limited to “three business days.”

Bob Barr. Not the AG who could with a snap of his fingers— change this with an order to “follow the Law!”.

With all due respect to Hannity...
Seems to me that the rally great “vast majority of rank and file” at FBI aren’t so much of a majority.
FBI needs a top to bottom cleaning and reduction.

Easy now, Hannity has at least 15 FBI lapel pins that all extol the virtues of these non-political G Men.

Tic-Toc-Kaboom!!

Is the ‘author’ in charge of the Justice Dept?

Is the FBI an organization that is under the Justice Dept?

So, the BOSS is saying HIS organization is ‘wrong’ and WE should do something about or at least ‘not accept’ what they are doing?

If ‘they’ would have cleaned house at the gitgo we may not be sitting here wishing in one hand and Schiffing in the other to see which one fills up first.

After allowing these ‘rogues’ free range, NOT taking away their security clearances at the first opportunity and then have them go before any camera in the country and ‘go after’ the President on a daily basis, now IF AND WHEN these people are rightfully hauled into court, they have a built in out by claiming any and all charges against them are retaliatory for their past ‘attacks’.

All FBI agents are civil servants. Guaranteed pay checks. Guaranteed pensions. Based on my long association with Federal workers (as a contractor), I can assure you that a large number of them wouldn’t so much as say “I have a mild concern with that ....” if they thought it would in any way affect their taxpayer funded free ride.

Dear AG Barr - doesn’t the FBI work for you? You are their boss, no?

YES!

Many people are for term limits for congressman. I am against it - AT LEAST UNTIL there are term limits for civil servants, and the Government agencies they work for. At least, voters can remove elected officials. But there is NO WAY for citizens to remove the permanent DC bureaucracy who do not give a shit what people outside the Beltway may think.

BARR: The FBI Is Playing Games With Gun Background Checks

If this Barr is William P. Barr, the obvious answer is, "No! No! No! The FBI isn't doing anything! Someone at the FBI is.

"Go to Christopher Wray and say if this isn't fixed in two hours, you are out of a job! Then I will find the FBI scum bucket who is doing this and fire him, too!"

Entities don't do things. People who work for entities do. If someone in DC doesn't know this, he is in the wrong line of work.

Wray was given the mission to clean-up and restore the great reputation the FBI had in past years. He has failed - miserably. POTUS should have Barr take the lead and remove Wray and replace him with a retired FBI assistant director, one who has been through the ranks, not another former DOJ lawyer. There are a few retired FBI leaders who have appeared on TV shows that look good.

And don’t start any BS that there are no good retired FBI agents. I worked some pretty good cases in the 1950’s and 60’s when in LE, and worked closely with them. They were great - the best, in those days.

Democrats are running the FIB now. Those at the FBI that are not directly involved are napping rather than engage the coup. They take their cue from MAGA resistant GOP Congress when they see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil of the coupists among them.

See my post # 2 this thread.

It is NOT the Attorney General. It is Bob Barr. 2nd Amendment champion and former congressman from GA.

The GOPe career swamp types are just not interested in supporting POTUS. It’s that simple. Democrats and Quisling Republicans in the bureaucracy do what they want and there is rarely anything done about it.

This article is by Bob Barr. Not the Attorney General William Barr, who could do something about this in an ORDER!

Not a shocking bit of news...

Why would the communists waste their control of the FBI by not doing this?

They've recently gotten away with an attempted coup against the elected President.... Why in the world would they not get away with these gun-control shenanigans?

Two comments.

(1) Class action lawsuit for damages (denial of civil rights) and Temporary Restraining Order against FBI.

(2) A meeting with AG and/or Trump with top FBI officials from Head of the Bureau down to Instant check supervisors. At the meeting have the AG ask who gave this unlawful order. Tell them that they will either voluntarily state who gave the order starting with the supervisors telling first and going up the chain of command........or every FBI official in the room with be interviewed by an FBI again as to their knowledge of (including when their learned of this and if they OK’d passing down the chain of command) who gave this order, with a reminder that lying to an FBI agent is a federal crime punishable by jail time.

The Swamp within the FBI needs to be drained once and for all time.

I want Trump to take the kid gloves off. I want to see some FBI officials have their careers destroyed and spent time in jail.
