SEATTLE Thousands of people gathered at the Washington state Capitol to protest Gov. Jay Inslees stay-at-home order designed to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
In Olympia on Sunday, some protesters wore masks, while others waved American flags.
The Washington State Patrol said an estimated 2,500 people showed up to the protest. No arrests were made.
Tyler Miller, one of the organizers of the event, had said rural areas should be treated differently than more urban locations with more coronavirus cases.
Earlier Sunday, Inslee decried President Donald Trumps call to liberate parts of the country from social-distancing decrees, saying Trump is fomenting a potentially deadly insubordination before the pandemic is contained.
The latest statewide death toll as reported by the Department of Health had reached 634 deaths among 11,790 confirmed coronavirus cases as of 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
Heres a breakdown of some of the counties with the highest totals: King County has 346 deaths among 5,135 cases; Snohomish County has 94 deaths among 2,101 cases; and Pierce County has 32 deaths among 1,109 cases.

......”When these zealot Demofascist come for you and yours dont expect the support of patriots”......
Did you ever think perhaps you’re barking a little too loudly in the face of a country trying to fight an unseen enemy we’ve currently got on the run?
Like any war there is the heat of the battle when you’ve got to continue to stand your ground.....then there’s the ebb and flow when the fog of war starts to lift and you know the enemy is backing down.....and you continue the chase. Why would you decide rather to hop scotch along like there’s no fighting still going on?
I didn’t see a damn single Antifa, nor any other ‘pro-governor’ people.
There also several people openly carrying. Between them and State Patrol, I doubt anyone would have tried anything if they had nasty intent.
For whatever reasons some folks here can’t understand or don’t want to ‘rights’ of self-determination to protect ones families as they see fit.
Good for you.
I do.
Zero! They probably already had the disease and they are well!!
Thanks protestors. 535+++++ vs 330,000,000 minus many.
What does a week to ten days in a hospital cost?
How much of that cost will be paid by the taxpayers?
Don’t we pay for everything anyway?
It is good they are outside, but there is still a risk of transmission.
How long are you going to hide?
Perhaps you need to recall the US has had mandatory vaccines in the past, not just to save life’s but to protect the most vulnerable to those diseases. And these were reorded as well.
Currently seniors and those with underlying illnesses are vulnerable. I’d like to think people will care enough about their parents and the elderly etc. to get a vaccine.....

..”Our Governor (Asterisk Inslee) does not trust WA citizens to be able to do that”.....
That generally denotes a weakness of your Governor he has in himself and thus He’s ignoring how great Americans really are.
I certainly hope so....admitting my understanding of how economies work is unfortunately more limitied than I like. But I agree with you what I do understand about the markets. I like how you stated it as well..thank you.
Hey knucklehead. The shut down was to slow the spread. It has been slowed. It was not intended to wipe out the disease. That aint gonna happen. Sooner or later everyone is going to get exposed to this virus. That means me and you and the horse you rode in on.
Now, ride that horse back to DU. Get lost newbie. You dont belong on FREE REPUBLIC. Go hang out with your fellow would be tyrants at DU.
We all hope it is zero, but statistics would suggest that out of 2500 people, more than zero would be infected.”
I was not at the protest but I support it. Here in the Puget Sound Region of Washington state we had an exceptionally warm and sunny day today. It would seem unlikely for the virus to spread in the open air, in the sunlight, in a group of people young and strong enough to attend the protest.
The oil market will be slow to bounce. Those markets have COVID-19 hurting them and the Russians and OPEC flooding market and that war will keep prices down until next spring.
BTW...I wasn't addressing you..with my post.
The "19" hasn't taken freedom from us.....The GOBMENT has..
Do you deny that?
Tell the people that are losing their homes, their businesses....that their freedom has not been violated.
Exactly. Open all eating establishments, hotels, and stores and offices, and allow the vulnerable to still remain quarantined, and keep schools and concerts and big gatherings stopped for the time being, see how May goes. But open up everything else. Especially parks, trails, and beaches.
Have people still conduct larger meetings by zoom. Have people try to stay 3 feet away even in offices or elevators, take turns. Be reasonable. Masks voluntary. Any cold symptoms, you stay home.
But we have a constitution and you cant force healthy people to stay in lockdown and lose their ability to support themselves and their families. None of this would stand up to the Supreme Court if they really based law upon our constitution.
***Perhaps you need to recall the US has had mandatory vaccines in the past***
Perhaps you need to know that this is not the past!
If a vaccine becomes MANDATORY with tracking and all that entails, this is a BRAVE NEW WORLD!
Seniors have ALWAYS been vulnerable. Kids can’t eat without parents feeding them through work. GET IT?
You might...and if I could I would help you...if you asked me to.
