Yes....in a “bad flu” year I’ve seen estimates over 80,000....and I’d call this a bad flu year.
People are going to decide what or not they do. If in a strict area then they know the risk of the virus and possible fine. They are just as free as a driver on the road following the speed limits or not.
I have friends who have had family Sunday dinners at each others homes throughout this shut down...and those who haven’t seen their family members for weeks. All determining what they view as a risk or not.
Every person is still free to choose....how they choose will vary.
You don’t have any such thing. You’re repeating an error that someone else posted.
The 2017-2018 estimated death toll of 80,000 by the CDC was revised DOWN to 61,000 by the CDC.
Why doesn’t anyone bring up the 12,000 or so flu deaths from other not-history-making years?
It’s not even important to the way this will all turn out. Some people just get off on trying to prove how “superior” they feel.
I wish that were true. If I had the option of going to a live church service I would. If I had the option of going to a ballgame or traveling to have a big 80th birthday party for my mother I would. unfortunately those options are limited by others.
Im blessed. I still have a paycheck coming in. It must be 100s of times worse for those sitting at home facing financial ruin and unable to work because their place of business is shuttered by government order
Really no way to know if that is true or not. Sweden never locked down, and so far they are doing alright.
You can’t go to Santa Cruz from the outside without being fined $1000.
Since it’s an NBC poll, they probably did what they do in all their polls - asked mostly Democrats.
There's light at the end of the tunnel.
Well that is the question. I guess because President Trump decided to ;et the experts lead. Had he gone by his gut instincts I doubt he would have. Especially if the stockpile of PPE and ventilators had been kept up instead of allowing it to become almost completely depleted.
But Americans were still mostly hardy folks back then. 8>)
Well so far the pandemic is not living up to its scary billing. Did the lock down save the day? Impossible to tell, but the damage to the economy is real. We will see if it comes back like it was, but something tells me that so much damage has been done that it likely will not. People will die because of that, guaranteed.
Going out to eat. Getting my nails and hair done. Going to court. Playing tennis. Going to the beach. Having my child’s big wedding. Going to my regular dentist. Should I keep going?
He doesn’t do anything, anyway, I guess.
You are getting your hair and nails done?
You are being a keyboard bully, VL
My church celebrated Easter services IN THE SANCTUARY under pain of arrest and imprisonment or having our property condemned if we had more than 10 people. We did. We took a stand, we celebrated and were prepared to go to jail. We stood up.
I am also saving lives and treating this disease everyday (although less and less of it as we are over the worst part of it). ,p> And I am trying to educate the ignorant...you.

Thank you. Glad someone has a spine.
Frankly...it’s all a guessing and manipulating game right now of numbers...IMHO
Apparently Vermont LT thought he was an anesthesiologist, lol because it said gas dr, I read that as gastroenterologist which I am guessing is closer to right than anesthesiologist. Anyway, I really appreciate the opinions of the MDs (not Maryland) on this thread. My hospitalist friend is pretty calm about the C-virus too.
He is not a gas passer, dude.
Seems more like a blowhard to me...I stopped reading his posts awhile back.
