Senate Republicans are marching forward with probes into the origins of the FBI's Russia investigation and the surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser.
The developments come as the Senate is in the middle of a five-week break sparked by the rapid spread of the coronavirus, which has devastated the economy and resulted in more than 30,000 deaths in the United States.
But top GOP chairmen are unveiling details of their controversial probes, or requesting more information, signaling they have no intention of slowing down even as senators arent expected to reconvene until at least May 4, the Senates tentative return date.
Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), seizing on newly declassified details of a Justice Department watchdog report, are asking FBI Director Christopher Wray to hand over all records related to Crossfire Hurricane, the name for the counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia.
We are deeply troubled by the Crossfire Hurricane teams awareness of and apparent indifference to Russian disinformation, as well as by the grossly inaccurate statements by the FBI official in charge of the investigation and its supervisory intelligence analyst, the two GOP senators wrote Thursday in a letter to Wray.

“top GOP chairmen are unveiling details of their controversial probes”
You have to shake your head about how they frame the story...
The controversial plan to probe the non-controversial and sound investigations of the President?
Give me a break.
P.S. - Graham, Burr, and Grassley will not do a damned thing about this. Graham will go on the Big Bombastic Boom Hannity show and make empty promises in between being interrupted non-stop. Grassley will write a lot of letters. Burr will go back home and continue his insider trading.
The guys who can and would do something have little power given that Schiff, Nadler, and Pelosi control the house.
I can’t get a read on Johnson and surprisingly am not very familiar with him. He is a good guest on shows sometimes, but does he actually do anything or just the Senate two-step?
I have 2 words Brennen, Comey. I guess no one wants to admit it was a CIA plot to take Trump down.
Who’s idea was the wuflu? Must have been a collaboration of ccp and DNC. Rats dreamed it up and Chinese made it happen.
“Lindsay Graham AWOL again.”
How about Richard Burr, Chairman of the Intelligence Committee that should be doing the oversight? Too busy with insider trading and selling real estate at a premium to lobbyists? Mark Warner, the lead Democrat on the Intelligence Committee has run it since Burr has been chairman. Burr won’t make a move without Warner’s agreement.
Now there is the prospect Burr will be pushed to resign for his insider trading and Democrat Governor Cooper will appoint a Democrat to replace him.
Yes there are consequences when we vote for corrupt RINO’s because they are “better” than the Democrat.
And yet Schiff “courageously “ declared he had initiated another investigation into Trumps xenophobic conspiracy to deny honest Chinese and opening into their right to American markets.
Leftwing rag, The Hill, doesn’t like the probe.
Yep...his ol butt buddy McCain was knee deep.
We are deeply troubled ...Does anybody believe them? I sure don't.
How much bitchin' about Mueller? None.
Congress is a bigger player in the plot than the CIA.
Your comments did not fall on deaf ears.
I’m on your side. A very large portion of the population knew precisely who and what the former President was. To no avail.
Interesting how things just kind of slid into place for his presidency. When you don’t have the votes to shut down the opposition, pretty much anything goes at least for those up to no good.
If you are wanting to be on the side of good, figure you are already in the minority. The only one on your side is the author of good Himself. The rest of us are already labeled not good, no not one.
So, knowing the odds, how do we engage the powers of heaven to come out strong in our defense? There is a question for all time. Sackcloth and ashes, prayer and fasting, and probably a boatload of actions we may not see.
Just my rambling thoughts. I think they have been sitting in my computer since about one pm so they have been ruminating long enough.
Thanks, Rasmusen. I saw that, too. I just didnt have the energy to deal with it. You did, and youre exactly right.

That’s one slow ass tractor doing the plowing
Since you are not able to drive the tractor, you are not really competent to comment on the speed
