Have you considered this...Those many die every year and they have a vaccine for the flu?
Does this mean that even if they have a coronavirus vaccine thousands of people will die every year from it anyhow?

I totally agree. The decision is how best to outcry especially to Democrat Governors. I suspect it would have to be massive protests at the gates of each governors mansion.

There are far more people trying to file unemployment, but the UI systems cannot handle any more. We will see 5+ million each week for 10+ weeks at this rate.
22 million? That number is most likely over 32 million already, people just can’t get into the systems to file unemployment claims.
The democrats are salivating at all the new unemployed voters they will have.
It was Giant Mistake #1 by Trump to shut down the country. But at least it was made in good faith. Turns out the data was bad and models completely, absolutely wrong. Hospitals were not overrun; patients were not dying in the hallways from lack of care.
Once that was apparent, there was no reason to keep the shutdown going. An immediate reversal was required. Flip the switch completely. Let locals do their local lockdowns if they get local treatment overruns (not “hotspots,” but deaths in hallways). Everyone else, no restrictions. Just encourage social distancing, and self quarantine of old folks. Open the schools immediately.
But Trump is sticking with the gradual reopening. This is is Giant Mistake #2. But this time, it’s made with good information. The coming economic wreckage is 100% Trump’s fault.
The evidence is in: Shut down, destroy the economy and slow the pace of infection and hospitalization or distance and practice some self-control and common sense and a little inconvenience and slow it about the same. Pick one.
Time to recognize the former path was wrong and borne of ignorance and fear and stop it.

Perhaps he believes that protests are going to force an opening before we have to step trough Fauci’s 99 gates.
Of course the Democrats are on board with a new Great Depression. The first Great Depression led to the New Deal, a judicial re-writing of the Constitution to obliterate the concept of a limited federal government with enumerated powers. It ended 70 years of Republican dominance in the federal government and replaced it with 60 years of Democrat dominance, at least in Congress. It was the best thing to happen to the Democrat Party since the election of Andrew Jackson.
The Democrats have mostly been out of power for the last 25-40 years, depending on how you look at it, so of course they dream of a new Great Depression. They want the opportunity to impose their new Green New Deal and usher in another era of Democrat dominance. This has always been the progressive plan.
