Britains relationship with Beijing will no longer be business as usual after the COVID-19 pandemic is over, UK foreign secretary and acting Prime Minister Dominic Raab said, in a sign of a toughening stance toward the communist regime over its handling of the outbreak.
There absolutely needs to be a very, very deep dive after the event and review of the lessons, including of the outbreak of the virus, Raab said at a press conference in London on April 16. I dont think we can flinch from that at all.
Asked if there would be a reckoning with Beijing after the crisis ends, Raab, who is standing in for Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he recovers from the CCP virus, replied: Theres no doubt we cant have business as usual after this crisis, and well have to ask the hard questions about how it came about and how it could have been stopped earlier.
Former Tory leader and foreign secretary William Hague, who now sits in the House of Lords, said that Britain cant be dependent on China for technology as the recent crisis has demonstrated that it doesnt play by our rules.
The former head of the UKs chief intelligence agency MI6, Sir John Sawers, told BBC Radio on April 15 that the regime concealed crucial information about the initial outbreak and was evading its responsibility in causing the pandemic.

Good! The whole WORLD should be shunning these evil b@stards!
5G?
“Good! The whole WORLD should be shunning these evil b@stards”!
My words exactly! You beat me to it. Thank you.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Words are cheap. Especially when the crisis subsides and the gutless, amoral global business “leaders” get in the driver’s seat again.
Their three days of “screw the world” will come back to haunt them.
China is quite capable of inflicting even more damage to the planet. China puts China first, second, and third, and there is no fourth. Wait for the invasion of Taiwan with no push-back.
Anyone remember the Deepwater Horizon oil spill about 10 years ago? At last count, BP has had to pay over $60 billion for the damage that they did.
How much damage have the ChiComs caused with their crap? Several trillions’ worth? Time to pay up.
China needs to be isolated. No business at all, from anyone. Period.
China decided to destroy their civilization.
So be it.
Freeze and seize their assets, world wide. Global boycott. No more agricultural shipments from the US to China.
That’s a start.
Hey I couldn’t have said that better.
I knew there was a reason I liked you :-)
And that word was created for countries like China.
I was just gonna mention that!
If they were smart, they’d back out of that mistake.
It makes for an easy excuse to back out and they’d correct a BAD mistake they made.

Good. China’s got too many hooks in that country.
China is responsible for most of the hideous skyscrapers in Lomdon.
The ChiComs need to be treated like the 3rd world nation they are, not a developing or 1st world nation.
I just went to Google (its not my default search engine) and searched - Dominic Raab china - in News. No hits for any U.S. media. Lets see if that holds true thru, say, noon tomorrow.
Time for a third Opium War...
I doubt it. After the crisis ends, there will be pressure from customers not to buy products that are made in China. If push comes to shove, I won’t be too surprised to see CCP push out Xi Jumping unless he is totally dominant.
I agree. But probably not immediately especially if we still need supplies from China. When the crisis ends, we need to give tax credits to corporations for relocating factories from China.
