India will provide hydroxychloroquine, which is being seen as a drug that may counter coronavirus, to over 50 countries while deliberations are underway on more such proposals. India has received requests from several nations for the medicine.

The ICMR has recommended the use of drug as a preventive medication to healthcare workers and household contacts looking after a positive case.

Besides, the Union Ministry has also recommended the use of hydroxychloroquine in combination with azithromycin on those severely suffering from COVID-19 who require ICU management.

In thanks, let’s send home all H1B workers and their families. Time for them to go home and free up those American jobs for American workers. NO INDIAN CITIZEN VISA WORKER SHOULD BE IN AN AMERICAN JOB IN THE US. Leave now! Go Home!

We really have to look for scammers in this huge outflow of medicine. I pray they are testing and re-testing the supply daily. It is human (more satan) nature to cut corners and there will always be tag-alongs trying to make a buck on worthless tablets.

Really? They send medicines to help and in return you want to slap them in the face?

Ignorant response. What has H1-B visas got to do with this article. While I agree we need to restrict and even curtail the program, what you asking is flat out racist and xenophobic.

FYI- I’m an immigrate who came to this country as a student in 1990 (age 16), finishe college, got a job using an H1-B,
became a citizen, got married, had kids and a proud American. I’ve always been conservative and naturally aligned with the Republic party, but view like yours make me saddened. I hate to use the liberal cliche that we’re all immigrants because that doesn’t account for legal and illegal immigrants, but it’s folks like you that give the Republican party a bad name.

Pretty embarrassing that we have to rely on India to manufacture.

Could it be that India provides a precursor to the manufacturers. Not sure how it is made, but if it starts with a natural quinine precursor, this might be why. Tried quick googling but no luck.

Why are they doing this? It doesn’t work and the side effects are worse than death. Gayle King told me so!

Pretty embarrassing that we have to rely on India to manufacture.

Worse than embarrassing that we also have to rely on China to provide us with so many of the medical goods we need to fight the virus China gave us. We need to move more of our medical supply chains from manufacture to distribution back into the US.

Hopefully it will be enough of a wake call so that the chant becomes “never again!”

Quinine (hydrochloroquine) comes from the bark of the cinchona tree. There are only certain areas of the world where this tree can grow. Plus there are only so many countries where there are large plantations to harvest this bark specifically for the extraction of Quinine!

The Media carpet-bombing of the hydroxychloroquine treatment is beginning to have an effect.

Scott Adams, who was an early advocate of the $20 mitigation regimen, is starting to waver.

Had to turn off his daily podcast today when it became apparent that they'd gotten to him, in the face of all evidence [anecdotes].

He now says there's only a 40% chance there's something there - when he was at a 70% chance a couple of weeks ago.

As a scientist, it's pretty obvious to me how the Media is manipulating the coverage.

No, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are synthetics.

HCQ was approved by the FDA in 1955.

“Notice that Pakistan is *NOT* on that list.”

And no Palestine?

Israel has a large pharmaceutical industry and they are just down the road.

Such a deal!

The Scientific Method has its place. So does Occam’s razor. It seems that the latter is the best bet at this moment in time.

I don’t know why any of these countries would even want this drug. After all... The democrats say it does not work.
