A formal review is to be launched into why people from a black and minority ethnic background appear to be disproportionately affected by COVID-19.
The move follows calls for the government to investigate the number of deaths of people from the BAME community and those working for the NHS, during the coronavirus pandemic.
Sky News analysis found out of the 54 frontline health and social care workers in England and Wales that have died because of COVID-19, 70% of them were black or from an ethnic minority.
Our analysis also found that four of the five health trusts in England which have recorded the most deaths so far cover areas with some of the highest combined South Asian and black populations.
Many of these are in London and the West Midlands which together account for almost half of all deaths in England.
Despite only accounting for 13% of the population in England and Wales, 44% of all NHS doctors and 24% of nurses are from a BAME background.
Early research from the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) found that last week 34% of critically ill coronavirus patients in England, Wales and Northern Ireland were from black or minority ethnic backgrounds.
According to the 2011 census, just 14% of the population is from those backgrounds.
The research was based on 3,300 patients from intensive care units.

They live in squalor, herds, big Dem run cities. Hubby worked with 1 who was terrified of small cities with less crime, wanted a big city where here was booze at motel.
Until they develop a disease like heart or diabetes they avoid doctors. Then they don’t follow many instructions.
“Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics.”
While there may be a genetic predisposition, other, universal (and possibly not so universal), factors would seem more likely to be at play. Not a time to be driving our society farther apart, but some just don’t seem to be able to keep themselves from doing so.
PRISONS TOO. Half their population.

I see groups of black people hanging out together without masks. My black neighbor had a bunch of people over for Easter. That neighbor and my hispanic neighbor were standing next to each other chatting the other day. Draw your own conclusions.
Carbohydrate ingestion causes insulin resistance. Insulin resistance keeps glutamine and glutamate stored in the extracellular matrix (ECM), because it can’t be imported into cells. Glutamine and glutamate acidify the ECM.
COVID-19 requires an acidic ECM for un-impeded entry into cells. American Black people, especially black women, have a much higher rate of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. This makes them more vulnerable to complications of COVID-19.
COVID-19 is prejudiced against blacks on the basis of dietary habits.

Question here is to be earned, or just taken?

This is what’s keeping MD Governor Hogan up at night.
Obesity is the obvious culprit. I bet if they examined the statistics not by race, but by age and weight, they’d have their answer. But that isn’t the answer they want.
Obesity and young people who live on grand parents social welfare checks...flaunting requests for social distancing to protect them

I don't hate them, but I don't know if I'd notice if they were gone. Sorry, but... I care about black people exactly as much as they care about me. (Bizarre that we now live in a world where that perfectly normal human attitude is shocking.)
Indeed, Subways Seeded the Massive Coronavirus Epidemic
Plus minorities have usually lived in low-income more densely populated areas, whether they be Irish or African. And at least in the USA, blacks are more overweight.
Cities...public transportation.
Could be living conditions-multi generational households or crowded living quarters. Could be subways and mass transit. Could be lack of fresh air. Could be Vitamin D deficiency. People with dark skin don’t get as much benefit from the sun and Northern areas and cloudy areas don’t have enough sun even for pale faces— could be a factor.
