Possibly because a few weeks ago we didn’t have the masks. We didn’t have the tests to make contact tracing work. We had no medicines and a shortage of critical medical equipment. And, we had no good data on what we were dealing with. A lot has been accomplished in just a few weeks.
Some years I was in the hospital for a ruptured appendix. My roommate (about 48 and a bit portly) was going on her third week there when I was moved to a regular room.
She had had what they could best determine was the flu, although it was June. She had been feeling poorly for a while and let it go, mainly because her husband had passed away about a month earlier and she was understandably very depressed.
She ended up calling the squad one night. Fortunately, she stayed conscious long enough to tell the dispatcher the secret spot where the extra house key was hidden.
The next day, she was told she had a 50/50 chance of living the night and was put on dialysis. She was told she had permanent heart, lung, liver, kidney, and brain damage later that week.
By the time I was moved to the room, she was set to be discharged the next day without much of an after care plan—because she didn’t need one. The damage that she had she did not have any longer.

Why do people want a vaccine? To provide an immunity factor (which will not approach 100%, ever). So open the nation back up with the emasn to treat the virus patient early and aggressively, to allow the body to develop the antibodies and erase the virus. The HCQ + regimen is to reduce the viral load so the body develops immunity in destrpying the virous.

My point is that this virus is a lot worse than the flu. And we need to take it seriously.
We need precautions when we reopen. Masks, social distancing, contact tracing, etc.
And we certainly shouldn't be advocating giving this to young people until we understand it's effects better.
We recently learned:
OK - explain how this works when people who think they may have the milder symptoms (which are 80% or more) - OR who are asymptomatic (perhaps up to 50%) - yet are STILL able to spread it - cannot get tested (and that is very real - happened to a friend here in Houston just three days ago)
So - if sick means they have it and are able to spread it to others - and yet we cannot even test them for it because they do not meet every single symptom (which is what my friend was told) - IOW - unless you are about to go into the hospital because you are so sick - you cannot get a test here in Texas (49 out of 50 per capita in testing - in spite of what Trump says about our great testing program) - so - your plan doesn't work. The asymptomatic spreaders are able to walk around and give it to others without knowing it. That is the Achilles heel in your plan. You CANNOT quarantine what you do not know - or what you think is the common cold or is allergies (which is really bad right now) - but is actually COVID - because they WILL NOT test you (but but - whoever wants a test can get it - RIGHT????) - and they think they are OK - and they walk around and spread it to those in their lives that are vulnerable.
So - just how long are the vulnerable supposed to stay locked up - according to your plan? A year or two?

He started giving some economic analysis in his most recent videos.
Not entirely sure of his history, but I think he is a Doctor of Pathology who turned financial advisor.
His coronavirus videos from January were almost entirely focused on Coronavirus. So adding the economic analysis is a recent change.
