I thought the hill country was supposed to be more conservative. I guess even the small towns are infected with liberal politicians; I wonder why conservatives keep voting for them?

Spent a LOT of time in and around Auburn...always a favorite of mine.
Spent many a weekend as a teen panning for gold and fishing in the American River.
Was 19 when I started work in one of the tunnels on the upper American River project, Long Ridge Tunnel, in the early 1960’s. Auburn was the nearest town of any size, (Forest Hill didn’t count as a town) and Auburn was pretty crazy in those days.
Conservatives don't vote them in...all these foothill towns have become bedroom communities for Sacramento and the central valley cities, and the usual cast of liberal nutters.
Auburn, Placerville, Folsom, Jackson, all used to be sparsely populated ranching communities until the hordes from the valley decided they would rather live in the country and deal with the long daily commute to the valley. They pretty much ruined the foothills.
That’s N-O-R-T-H-A-M. Get the name right.

Follow-up on that deranged doctor/mayor in California.
Now his med license needs to be revoked. He’s a clear and present danger to his non-Communist patients.
We retired here about 6 years ago. We like it. I’ve managed to get some gold out of Bear River. There IS gold in them that’s hills. ;0)
