One of the hospitalized sailors is in ICU
Four sailors on the San-Diego based aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt are in the hospital with COVID-19, the Navy said Tuesday. One is in intensive care.
The hospital admissions come the day after a member of the crew died of complications of the virus after four days in the ICU. The Defense department has not released the name of the sailor.
The Navy also said Tuesday that 589 of the Roosevelt’s crew have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. More than 4,000 of the crew have moved moved off the ship into housing on Guam, either in private homes or hotels.
The San Diego-based carrier has a total crew of roughly 4,845 service members, including its embarked air wing and command staff.

A bunch of young, fit, Navy sailors have a very low risk profile.
The only people at risk, are basically officers.
The general population, much higher.
Never rode in one and I ain’t complaining. I was in the engine room on watch when Roger went over in a stretcher. The tincan took him to Italy to get an appendectomy. The old 640 stayed up for just enough time to get it done. Down and back on patrol. 16 biguns with targets. It was our job.

Antigen negative, antibody negative = You haven't yet contracted COVID-19, although you could be incubating a case of COVID-19.
Antigen positive, antibody negative = You have a case of COVID-19 which you haven't begun to fight off.
Antigen positive, antibody positive = You have a case of COVID-19 which you are fighting off
Antigen negative, antibody positive = You've had a case of COVID-19 and can be cleared to go back to work
It is the President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief who declared a national health emergency, not me. He didn’t shut down the entire nation over seasonal flu and as recently as yesterday he said that it will be entirely HIS decision when to reopen the nation and that will be the toughest decision of his life.

The disease is carried by anybody coming in contact with someone who already has it. On a ship, that could be anybody that any member of the crew came in contact with. The Roosevelt had spent five in Danang, Vietnam in early March. Vietnam is next door to China and there was shore leave.
Telling the world and creating panic is not ‘dealing with its. He made his choice to go against protocol.
Technically, the CDC influenza figure is an estimate....millions of people don't even call a doctor for the flu, and nowadays many of us either go to work sick or work from home. Insofar as many believe there are lots of walking but tame coronavirus cases that aren't being recorded anywhere, the 35.5MM figure is an interesting benchmark but not a useful value for calculation purposes.
The hospitalization figures is also an estimate, but there is a little more fact here vs cases. Thus Hospitalization is probably a good proxy for COVID-19 cases. Thus, your case fatality rate formulae should be influenza deaths/hospitalizations vs coronavirus deaths / confirmed cases.
