The use of face masks on healthy people during the coronavirus pandemic has been a major point of contention and confusion among scientists and the public.
On Friday, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that all Americans wear face masks when they are in public.
But new guidance from the World Health Organization released on Monday says healthy people don't need to wear face masks and that doing so won't provide added protection from the coronavirus.
WHO also said community masking could lead to a "false sense of security" and cause people to ignore other evidence-based measures like handwashing and self-isolation.

I suppose the WHO wouldn’t recommend condoms to those who engage HIV ridden crack whores, due to a false sense of security.

I’ve always hated wearing masks. I refuse to wear one. I have the right to take my chances. Screw the authorities.
Now I am convinced that face masks work...
And once again, WHO misses the point. Face masks on supposedly healthy people are to protect others in case “healthy” is incorrect. It limits the spread of droplets carrying the virus. That’s why I wear a face mask — to protect others. Doesn’t help me. For my protection, social distancing and limiting outings are key.
If I have to pick one I’ll go with the CDC.
I do not wear a face covering right now. If I were actively coughing, perhaps. Now, mrs. jimfree has worn a bandana in the store on our last couple of grocery trips. She didn’t quite pull of the train robber look but it was suggested.
From the start every cop on the news was wearing one; the government basically admitted it was telling people not to wear them so stocks wouldn’t be depleted - NOT because they were ineffective.
Our public servants’ lives are no more important than those of the people who pay them.
Defund WHO

Boot them out of the US.

Facemasks, even if just a scarf are effective if nothing else for stopping people from sneezing all over each other and touching their face. Certainly better than the other braindead idea to arrest people for walking outside alone. I have no idea what the WHO is smoking but this automatically proves they’re no experts.

Mrs. jimfree is a costume history scholar and general clothing expert, so her laugh at seeing your photo is highly credentialed.
The symptom charts I have seen suggest sneezing isn't a coronavirus symptom. Maybe the flu, but more likely a cold.
