Lawyers Sue to Keep Millions of Foreign Workers in U.S.
Breitbart ^ | 6 Apr 2020 | NEIL MUNRO

Posted on 04/07/2020 1:44:18 PM PDT by NobleFree

Corporate immigration lawyers are asking a federal judge to take control of the immigration system from President Donald Trump and then suspend routine visa deadlines for at least two million foreign workers until after the coronavirus epidemic has passed.

The judge should “assume jurisdiction over this matter” and order the Department of Homeland Security to extend the visas for the foreign workers, says the April 3 lawsuit by the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

The stakes are very high. Under federal rules, whenever U.S. and Indian companies fire visa workers — such as H-1Bs — in the coronavirus crash, the visa workers must go home. If enforced, this rule will free many blue-collar and white-collar jobs for Americans made unemployed by China’s Wuhan virus.

Indian companies are lobbying federal agencies to keep their fired workers in the United States, and the Indian press is printing increasingly dramatic headlines. […]

The lawyers’ request comes after a group of GOP Senators quietly blocked a Democratic effort to restart work permits for the million-plus visa workers and the work permit workers who hold jobs in the United States. The giveaway was inserted into the Democrat’ coronavirus rescue bill, but it was stopped when the GOP Senators warned their colleagues “to not open the immigration can of worms in the coronavirus bill,” said one Hill source.

The GOP Senators who opposed the visa giveaway include Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Sen. Tom Cotton R-AR), and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO). Their group was backed up by a larger group of GOP Senators who are “still concerned about any use of the coronavirus [bill] to pass an immigration bill,” the source said. […]

Unemployed Americans should come first before ANY foreigners.

Um, What!?

The Constitution means nothing to Leftists or Judges anymore so I shouldn't expect any sort of heed given to the U.S. Code.

Good Grief.

I hadn’t even thought of this. Excellent opportunity to repatriate people who shouldn’t even have been here in the first place. Given the economic carnage and mass unemployment that will ensue right after a business restart, it’s amazing that Democrats are trying to keep these people in-country. Just goes to show that there are no depths to which Democrats will not stoop to enhance their future chances at the ballot box.

Impeach the judge and disbar the lawyer.

Good that we have a few Senators on our side.

Good point. The only rational reason for importing labor is if the US did not have available labor. That will not be the case for most, probably all, jobs. I knew several engineers who were laid off so their jobs could go to Indian and Chinese workers over the internet. (Circuit design and board layout, specifically.) Those foreign engineers weren’t even here.

I am so tired of lawyers destroying the country and judges going along with them.

It’s an industry. Likely there would be attorneys who would fight each other to defend Satan.

I believe we should import one foreign worker for each citizen, and in exchange for a small stipend and board in a barracks type environment, require the foreign worker to support the citizen as they are accustomed to, working as many jobs as required.

We’re going to have millions of unemployed Americans.
The foreigners need to go home.

Any “judge” that assumes jurisdiction over this matter can also assume reaching room temperature, if they think they can commandeer the power of the US Presidency. None of the “judges” were elected to rule over us as kings.

“We’re going to have millions of unemployed Americans.

If the powers that be insist on continuing to replace Americans with foreign labor after this fiasco where millions are unemployed then it’s time for a revolution.
