New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) is threatening to “permanently” close the meeting places of religious organizations that persist in holding services while the city is shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“A small number of religious communities, specific churches, specific synagogues are unfortunately not paying attention to this guidance [to close] even though it's been so widespread,” de Blasio said in a briefing on Friday.
“So, I want to say to all those who are preparing the potential of religious services this weekend: if you go to your synagogue, if you go to your church and attempt to hold services after having been told so often not to, our enforcement agents will have no choice but to shut down those services,” he said.

I looked up all the different definitions of that word currently in use, and not one them was anything close to “decree” or “ukase”.
Regardless of the wisdom of holding church services, the government has no say in this matter. It’s also the reason why the 2nd amendment follows the first. The kind mayor needs a one way ticket out of this country.

I heard that DeBlasio did, in fact, specifically say that muslims better not even think about going to a mosque during this.

I think this is a very reasonable and measured response . I have heard from many fearpers that I am killing people by attending church. I am still a little foggy on how, but I am probably approaching mass murderer level.
I saw no mentions of mosques in the article. Did my old eyes miss it?
