New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said Monday that early responses to the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine anecdotally suggest its use in the coronavirus fight has been effective, but that official data was still forthcoming.
Asked about the progress of the trials at his daily press briefing, Cuomo noted that state officials have allowed use of the drug in combination with the antibiotic Zithromax in hospitals at their discretion. He said the federal government would increase supplies to New York pharmacies, but that New York has imposed a 14-day limit to protect the supplies for people who rely on it to treat other medical conditions.
The tests in the hospital, theyre too short a period of time to get a scientific report, Cuomo said. Hospital administrators, doctors want to have a significant data set before they give a formal opinion. Anecdotally, youll get suggestions that it has been effective. But we dont have any official data yet from a hospital or a quote-unquote study, which will take weeks if not months.
There has been anecdotal evidence that it is promising; thats why were going ahead, he added, noting that some patients have a pre-existing condition or medication regimen that prevents them from taking it.
An increase in the supply from the federal government, Cuomo added, would allow New York to lift the 14-day restriction.

You’re quite right....and it should be an easy stat to come up with since IIRC, all med records are computerized and more than likely....government accessible.
So funny....Cuomo just said that Fauci is full of it...that it works...”and that’s why we’re going ahead with it.”
LA doctor: COVID-19 patients go from very ill to symptom-free in 8 to 12 hours using hydroxychloroquine and zinc

Hey Cuomo- there is NO reason to continue denying this to your citizens!
There is enough circumstantial evidence to prove this drug works- there is no sound reason to keep saying that there isnt enough evidence to prove it- The world has proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that this drug is safe, and works dramatically! Cuomo needs to be sued for denying everyone the chance at life saving drugs!
Cuomo has NOT stated that doctors can prescribe this drug to patients OUTSIDE of a hospital setting yet- like practically every other state is doing, meaning that people at home, without the drug being made available to them just incase- who get the virus, could turn critical at any moment, and die
What cuomo is doing is immoral- unethical!
[[So if hydroxychloroquine is the answer, what is the COVID19 infection rate of the thousands of people that take it all the time? Surely that info is out there but it doesnt seem anyone is looking for it.]]
This needs to be repeated till soemoen finds out- reporters need to ask this very question- Why are 1000’s dying still if the drug is effective? Are hospitals NOT using it or something? Who gets better? Who avoids gettign it? These stats NEED to be recorded pronto-
So NY CV patients..... keep gasping for another 14 days while we top up the arthritis and lupus communities, cause theres no other possible drugs they can use....
He wont answer that
[[We don’t know for certain whether hydroxychloroquine would work for everyone with serious complications due to COVID-19.]]
We don’t need to know whether it will work for every single person- we just need to know that it will work for a majority of people- and studies and clinical trials now are showing that almost everyone treated with it will survive- even people quite close to death from the virus- another study out in LA shows that people who are very sick are recovering in 8-12 hours- fully recovering- seem my previous posts for the link
DING! DING! DING!
You have nailed it. No matter what else is written on this post, it will be superfluous.
DING! DING! DING!
This all a set up to make Cuomo the Hydroxychloroquine hero.
Translation: ‘Trump was right. It works but I’m not going to give Trump credit’.

Anecdotally successful. These F’ers invent sh*t words every day to mislead America. It ain’t no damned anecdote to the hundreds of people whose lives were saved. It was a f’ing cure.
Cuomo would probably like to have the “official date” for revealing the success rate of the meds kept a secret until after the November election. If they work as well as some anecdotal stats claim, could he possibly hold back from giving the meds to everyone who tests positive as soon as they need hospitalization (excluding those who have a health reason not to take it)?
How dare Cuomo utter the word “hydroxychloroquine”.
HE’S NOT A DOCTOR!!!!!
Why isn’t the media condemning him, as they have Trump?
Maybe Medicare and Medicaid are using some 40 year old software like NJ uses, for the unemployment claims, IIRC. NJ Gov. just called out for some programmers who knew COBOL. Hopefully not.
Officially a rusty nail is scotch and Drambuie.
If you don’t believe me, ask AOC
He is anecdotally the governor.
even the Dem Gov of NY don’t need no stinkin’ year-long “stud” to get “proof” and stuff and is blowing by Fauci and Hahn ...
“Happy to see it. Cuomos begrudging admission will carry more weight in some quarters than Zelenkos enthusiasm. Everything helps.”
absolutely ...
i notice that Cuomo is trying to subtly back-sliding on his hydroxychloroquine anti-usage edict without actually revoking the edict ...
>>I have NOT heard ONE person who has lupus say they have gotten coronavirus<<
I realize that was probably tongue in cheek, but if we had a functioning news media (we don’t) reporters would be asking the same question, and would be telling lupus and rheumatoid arthritis sufferers to get in touch with them about their experience with Covid-19.
They would also be pestering doctors for their insights on the same question, and maybe even asking Fauci at a press briefing if the Medicaid/Medicare records had been checked, as suggested here.
Is their a real live scientist in here.
The Fauci definition of anecdotal seems to be BS to me.
Straighten me out.
