I have been plotting the NY Times data set automatically pulled from their github repository (that they update daily) and plotted using the R statistical processing language and R-markdown to prepare plots and reports. The cases in NYC and Monroe County have not yet peaked.

“Reporter asks ‘you are using only 16,000 beds, and you said you would need at least 110,000.”

Wow! A reporter finally asks a valid question.

"What numbers are a fraud ? The actual cases, the hospital usage. The deaths "

Most of them. Cuomo just admitted predicted hospital beds neededwas far too draconian. Almost every death is being attributed to WuFlu for federal financial aid purposes if not Trump bashing.

Have you heard about CN Gov. Lamont who coded an infant's suffocation to COVID ? The caretaker suffocated the infant. That's just one case, conceded, but there are others pertaining to teens and young adults that should not be.

Anyone who is old and less healthy is likely to be infected, so the other infirmities that likely caused death are coded as COVID.

I'm waiting for an explanation of NYC's annual flu death rates in '18 and '17 which were dramatically lower than '19 / '20. It doesn't take a genius to see WuFlu taking the blame. And that blame is responsible for the panic which has cost millions of jobs, small businesses, and nest eggs.

I'm old enough that I need to use care and caution, but not the bulk of this country.

Nausea and diarrhea were found in 10 to 15 % of cases in China. 3 to 5% tested for covid but no other symptoms besides the gastro.

I listened to Cuomo’s remarks. Sounded to me like he was trying to avoid false hope. He said it’s better today but it’s only one day, and too soon to tell if they’ve passed the peak. Might go down, might just level off, might go back up.

Are they also tracking cases and deaths from the regular flu? Wonder how they compare to prior years and to the Covid-19?

Is there any way to divert funds to build a 30-ft wall around metro NYC?

So governor nipple rings cries wolf and corners the market on ventilators. How long before he starts gauging other states for PPE? Is this what the mob calls a “bust out”?

We’re going to know a lot more over the next ten days. Last Monday Dr Doom almost gaurenteed at least 100,000 New deaths over the next two weeks. So that means there should have been 50,000 NEW deaths as of today over the last week. We are nowhere near that number. As I say we will know a lot more in ten days. What l expect is after 10 days they will say the next two weeks will be the worst... again. We will see.

In your list the fatigue is the best match. I happened to be off from work, but I couldn't do anything. My sore throat was not really sore, but more than slight. My nausea came with the loss of smell and taste. I just did not want any food, even chocolate which I love.

I figured with feed a cold, starve a fever, I had enough fever that it was ok to starve. I still think it was the flu and not covid, but these articles are making me question that.

It does seem to have a variety of effects. I read somewhere that they found virus in stool.

OK, many thanks!

Does it agree with the New York graph that ceebass posted on the other thread:

The total number of cases in NYC has not started to exhibit a plateau nor has the total number of new cases. NY has not reached the peak number of cases yet..

The next two weeks will provide more data and I doubt they will be easy. Gov Coumo (and President Trump) and their advisers have to make important decisions with only models to guide them. Both have repeatedly emphasized that one hopes for the best but plans for the worst. Because when the s**t hits the fan, you have to do the best with what you have. If you have what you need (or a bit more) you will be happy and successful.

It is easy for us to sit behind a keyboard and criticize them. Ask yourself, if you had to make these decisions and realized you had to answer to a partisan press who wanted stories where "If it bleeds, it leads", what would you do?

I'm glad I am not in charge and will give them the benefit of the doubt until it is over.
