You can only keep Americans penned up for so long. If this continues, it will not end well...
...and it wont be due to any virus.

Good thing I went there yesterday to get some stuff.
When the milk or other things I need run out I'll be going again no matter what this lady says. (when the powdered milk is restocked then I won't have to go for that again)

Why would I do that?
I go to work, complete each day’s job, and buy my food at the grocery store.

No place to go?? It isn't person specific....it can get on everything touched etc etc.
We have 4 cases in our Town and it's a tiny little cluster in a Town of 45,000 people.
Fauci is nuts....he knows a lot. Regardless, everything he promotes is still just his opinion. He doesn't care about the people....he cares about his "studies"....people are just numbers to him.
To: david1292
Cases are going up because the only people that are getting tested already have it. They are MAKING the numbers.
To: chris37
Many people work at grocery stories and pharmacies. They have to go to those places every single day.
So what is Dr Birx advice to those people? Quit?
To: chris37
That graph is fraudulent.
Just compare the mortality rates for the U.S. per the CDC in the last few years and that graph does not match up to reality.

"This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe, she said."Hey, how about saying "this is the moment to not be going into the NYC subway system"

Meat cutter/butcher at my local grocery store said they just got in a $6000 order of meat when I went yesterday.
Lots of meat goods and certain other items. Other items are scant pickings or empty shelves.
Beer section was fully stocked! {;^)

You just seem very beholden to the government.

From Wikipedia: Birx lives with her parents, husband, and one of her daughter’s family in a multi-generational home.
So essentially, Dr. Birx doesnt even remotely social distance in her own home.

Between 8:10 AM EDT yesterday and 7:47 AM today, the number of worldwide cases jumped by 101,085, for a total of 1,131,713 cases. So far, fewer than a quarter of those infected have recovered, and the death rate has crept up to 5.29%. The number of cases is doubling roughly every 6-7 days.
There is nothing reassuring about this situation.

Agreed. This is why we see panic buying, because the next thing to close will be the grocery stores. Welcome to North Korea!

Good idea, but the store I frequent has a limit placed at one gallon per customer.
Bread was the same way a couple of weeks ago (one loaf per customer) but it's not that way now.
