But that would be wrong...

"Good for McDonald’s ... doesn't McDonals serve breakfast all day long?"

Uh no!! Not any more. I went to order a couple of biscuit sandwiches at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, at one of the two local McDonald's, and was told they stopped serving breakfast at 2 p.m. When I got home, I checked the corporate site, and both local McDonald's websites. There was nothing about a limited menu on any of them.

After complaining to the corporate office of McDonald's, I was put in touch with the office in my area that oversees the franchises in the area. McDonald's ordered all breakfast to be cut back to 10:30 a.m. weekdays, and to 11 a.m. on weekends. My local franchise made the decision to hold off until 2 p.m. The woman I spoke to told me that she doubted McDonald's would go back to serving breakfast all day again. I don't understand what their reasoning is. They're using the virus as an excuse to reduce their menu and manpower. I don't usually go to McDonald's to pick up a breakfast sandwich until later in the afternoon, and I always have to pull up in line, and wait for something to be cooked...like hash browns. I don't mind the wait. It's worth it to me because their breakfast sandwiches are the only things I like. They've also stopped serving other items during this time...like salads, which is understandable, but they have cut out other things. I can't remember the list the woman told me.

If they stop serving breakfast all day, I won't be going back to McDonald's ever, and I told them that. I'm a late nighter, and don't go to be until at least 4 a.m., so there's no way I'd be up to get a sandwich by 10:30 a.m. on a weekday. I get a breakfast sandwich maybe once a month, so it won't be a big deal if I never have one again. Besides, the last time I ordered two breakfast sandwiches, and a hash brown, after waiting for it to be cooked, I got home to find two disgusting looking cheeseburgers in the bag with a hash brown patty. Now who ever orders two cheeseburgers and a hash brown? The fact that the moron who packed the bag was too stupid to realize something might be wrong, is just another reason not to go back there.

They serve a few select breakfast items all day.

Thanks for the warning... it’s been a while since I’ve been there.

Nice to know they’ve made the decision not to offer breakfast all day - - won’t have to wait in line to be disappointed. Of course I wouldn’t eat at McDonalds during this crisis. If they can’t get the right sandwiches in the bag there’s a good chance they can’t follow disease prevention protocols either...

Thanks for sharing.

I did time at McD. I was surprised they went with the breakfast all day thing. Terrible idea. Breakfast takes a lot of equipment that lunch doesn’t use. And the shared equipment often doesn’t run at the same temp for lunch and breakfast stuff. Not to mention all the food parts that need to be nearby and often are kept in the same fridge. Every day for transition there was a lot of swapping stuff out, that hour was always irritating and chaotic. Trying to do them both in parallel was just not a good plan. Not for the 3 or 4 after breakfast attempt at breakfast orders a day, which pretty much all came in the first half hour post breakfast.

In the old days before all-day breakfast, I witnesses more than one time when a customer who arrived just after breakfast cutoff started yelling because he couldn’t get his mcmuffins.

Reminds me of the “Falling Down” restaurant scene.

That is nice to see! McDonald’s, is always pilloried by the left, but they do more to put food in bellies than any government program or leftist causes. I don’t see any universities, journalists, welfare recipients, or tree huggers volunteering or helping anyone out.

I am reminded of standing next to a supervisor that I worked with. We were looking at a holiday “pot luck” that some of the front line call center folks put on. The supervisor turns to me and says, “If it’s not in store packaging, I am not eating it. I know what their cubicles look like. I can only imagine their kitchens.”

With that, I went on a “diet” at my offices.

Whatever those customers do-—DO NOT touch the order screen inside the store. Those screens have been tested & found to have more bacteria on them than your average toilet.
