The U.S. economy lost a total of 701,000 jobs in March, bringing a record 10-year streak of employment gains to a halt as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hammer the workforce and shatter economic growth.

The closely watched monthly jobs data, released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, also shows the unemployment rate soared to 4.4 percentfrom 3.5 percent, after months at a half-century low.

It "soared" to 4.4 percent. If I remember correctly it was never that good under Ovomit.

Was thinking the same with the added comment that I’m sure Red China does think Trump provoked them.

No, but they are taking advantage of their position and playing politics. Communism will do absolutely anything to survive.

I think China and the “Deep State” are probably our worst enemies. But yeah, can’t rule out unhappy Iranian, Syrian, Iraqi, Venezuelan, Russian, etc., state or more independent actors.

Does anyone else think Rush is being a complete asshole today?

CLEARLY *all* he cares about is that America has been brought to a halt because of the virus, wants us to turn it all on again, and doesn’t seem to mind if the entire country gets infected.

Because, after all, people’s lives don’t mean ANYTHING compared to making money, do they, Rush? Tell me against what great patriots Boll & Branch are because they shovel money into your show.

Not listening, but rich guys in general are out of touch. Too attached to wealth. Listen to Steve Bannon and Eric Bolling for some incredibly misguided solutions, too.

Yeah, we need to find ways to get up and going again, but if you are in a real hot spot you know this is something very real.

Please stop the hyperbole. It's unbecoming you.

I feel terrible for them and especially small business, but that’s not what you were referring to.

You said destroying Trump’s economy WAS the goal. Not the virus.

That only leaves 2 possibilities. 1) That China worked with the Democratic Leadership to unleash this on the world to ruin both the Global and Trump economies, OR

2) The Democratic Leadership had no involvement with China at all but once they saw what was happening, they figured - what the hell - let’s kill a few hundred thousand people to try and ruin the economy.

Pretty craven view of the world. Not to mention the fact that Trump is pretty unpopular. I’m not sure they need to wreck the economy to beat him.

No 2 is close, but an incomplete answer. The MSM did their level best - and they succeeded - to elevate the paranoia level where the politicians couldn’t withstand the fear their constituents felt. Now we’ve got a real economic mess on our hands, a mess that will kill more people and shorten lives way more than the Wuhan Flu.

Then tell me where he’s addressed what will happen if the country does what he wants it to do. All he keeps saying is “this is unsustainable!” and downplaying the estimated amount of deaths. As far as I can tell, he hasn’t given a moment today to discussing what will happen if the country opens up again, as he obviously wants it to do.

Estimated. Predicted. Forecast. That’s all you stupid Corona Clowns can ever point to. I’ve got a number for you. 10 million newly unemployed. Why don’t you make the house notes for you neighbors who now don’t have job? That would be a tangible contribution.

Who told you Trump was “pretty unpopuar?” late night comics? The “news” media? The democrat-heavy polls?

The same people who told us Hillary was 10 points ahead and guaranteed to win the election?

You sound like a mole from Dummy Underground.

“And if they don’t go back to work for the company they used to work for they won’t have that job anymore. They will be permanently unemployed.”

Supposedly part of the Dem plan was to get a lot of lower income people used to a higher wage.

I wonder how the taxes will hit them?

And you sound like you have your head in the sand.

Really? You think Trump is popular with people universally across this country?

Out of curiosity, what percentage of Americans do you think support/like/love the President?

I voted for him and will do so again even though it won’t matter. I still think he’s going to be re-elected.

That said, I’d be willing to bet that 70-90% of the population of NY, NJ, CA, IL, WA, OR, MA, CT, NH, VT, MD and CO hate the President. And that’s a lot of people.
