You’re forgetting the folks with private insurance, though, especially union members with cadillac policies. Those folks aren’t rich, but they’re money makers for hospitals. Those are likely the folks the hospitals are holding on to while happy to send off the Medicaid, Medicare, and dual-eligibles.
Fauci is like the “ in the stands” coach. They see all the plays, all the errors, but put them on the field and they are exposed like the “ wizard of Oz”

But we have! Read the transcripts of the coronavirus "pressers". The rate at which these chemical tests have been developed and implemented is nothing short of astonishing. It is easily the equal of anything done in WWII. (PhD chemist and career in developing methods for chemical testing, so I have a pretty good clue as to what is involved).
Don’t know how many dead from this yet, but if it doesn’t increase as rapidly, they will tell us the social distancing and closing down of our economy is working. Meanwhile, the subways in NYC will all be running full cars with people less than 6 feet away from each other. Maybe herd immunity will be catching on soon there.
The ships aren’t treating Corona patients. They are there to handle the overflow on every day stuff as ships are really hard to disinfect. We have seen this with the crusie lines.

Laura Ingraham had two doctors on last night. One of them stated that the ship is not yet used because the hospitals in New York have not reached capacity. Ship not needed, yet.

And, NY has NOT reached their peak, yet.
That is supposed to be happening in the next two weeks, per Dr Gottlieb, it’s during, or around, Easter week.
Hospitalization follows the peak, by a week or two, then deaths, follow that, is what Dr G has been saying, all along.
There’s a LOT more at play here than the actual well-being of patients & doing what is right. Just as with most of government, what is best for American Citizens is not the driving factor, but instead, how to accumulate power as well as line the pockets of themselves, family, friends, lobbyists, etc.
All is not lost if you can ski behind these things.

And yes, they keep trying to establish separate facilities for the infected vs. non-infected. But again, it is a moving ratio as more and more are infected.
Trying to make a scandal of it not being totally or mostly filled 72 hours after it pulls into port, however, when cases are increasing at the rate they are, is the most ridiculous thing.

They need to get their picture from our very own Travis Mcgee. He’s been posting pictures and videos of the horrible conditions in the Corona hospitals for some time already.

I know. The fact that there’s next to nobody on the ships shows that the hospitals have not needed to move anyone, yet.
My understanding: the hospital ships are only treating patients without the coronavirus. If they are using the old test, it takes a number of days to get the results. There are reported more patient aboard now.
What a crap story this is. May as well say we have a lot of nuclear weapons and haven’t had a nuclear war.
Or that you’ve got too many fire extinguishers and haven’t had a fire.
What was the better option with these ships? Just let them sit there? Send to them to Italy?
