Not sticking up for the EU but Italy’s complaining is like San Francisco claiming sanctuary status, allowing unlimited illegal immigration, turning a blind eye when people poop in the streets then complaining when they do get an outbreak of disease that the Federal government is to blame because they didn’t care enough.
It seems the Russians already sent help to Italy so who needs the EU.
Italy is a shambolic mess dominated by the Left, but they must be helped by the EU against a natural disaster or be permitted and expected to leave. Indeed, as Milton Friedman warned, the EU and the euro in the long run required an integrated budget and common, mutually supportive policies or they would fail. As it is, the German dominated EU is more absurd than Italy in promising in easy times to be a reliable supporter of its members but ditching them in a crisis.
Bingo. This is a chance for the European Union to show it actually serves a genuine and useful purpose. So far, I can't see much sign of it doing that.
While I've never been a fan of the European Union experiment, I'd be delighted if they showed some real and effective response that saved lives.
But I'm not holding my breath, I am afraid.
“Hug a Chinaman” video didn’t seem to help.
The EU umbrella shelter of nation assistance so touted failed at the time it had one job, expectedly. Now it says sorry. Haha cant make this political warfare sht up. And if the excuses are not believed, then what?
The “hug a Chinaman” was a stupid stunt but it was the thousands of Chinese, many of whom went to Wuhan for the holidays and came back, that made Italy the world Coronavirus champions.

Germany’s check is in the mail....NOT. In times of crisis, it’s every man for himself and every country will go to the default mode of Name Of Country First if they can’t ply money out of Germany’s pocket.Look for the PIGS to start making noises of going back to their own currencies so they can devalue them and compete economically after this is over.
