Here We Go Again: China Puts Entire County On Lockdown After New Corona Cluster Emerges
China is no longer fixed.
Having lied for the past month that it has the coronavirus crisis under control just so people return to work, full of hope and enthusiasm, rejoicing at the surge in Chinas just as fabricated PMI numbers, and willing to work their asses off (with Beijing so generously willing to risk everyones lives as the alternative is a complete collapse in Chinas economy), earlier today the US finally cracked down on the relentless barage of Chinese lies, when US intelligence accused China of deliberately lying about its coronavirus figures.
Then, in a miraculous coincidence, just moments later Reuters reported that a county in central Chinas Henan province announced on Wednesday it had virtually banned all outbound movement of people, following several cases of coronavirus infection in the area.
According to a post on its social media account, Jia county which has a population of about 600,000 said that no one can travel out of Jia county without proper authorization. Additionally, residents are not allowed to leave their homes for work unless they have clearance to do so.
According to local media reports, on March 29, Henan Province broke its 30-day streak of reporting no new coronavirus cases, saying one person tested positive after a trip to Pingdingshan, where Jia County is located. Specifically, on Saturday, Henan province reported one confirmed case in Luohe city; local authorities said the infected person had been in contact with two doctors based in Jia county who later tested positive for the virus even though they had showed no symptoms.

Seems to me the same could happen here...or anywhere...until we get a treatment to eradicate this. Those #*$&$^ #*$&$& Chinese!

Truly inspired alliteration; BRAVO, well done!
Pingdingshan?
Ho Lee Cow.
Even the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918-1919 was the second round of the first version that had mutated .... The first go-round in 1917-18 was not as severe as the second.
Sum Ting Wong there.
I’m glad to see they will be kept busy rather than trying to take advantage of everyone else whom they created the mess for.
I doubt they ever had it under control at all.
I guess now we’ll just have to watch for the emission plumes from the crematoriums to get a true sense of what’s really going on over there.
Effective Treatment and everyone needs to wear masks. Preferably masks and goggles.
Yeah people going up in smoke. Do they cremate everyone in China when they die?
Clever.
If millions in china were being died, the Chinese people would know, and revolt.
No, instead they build massive hospitals in ten days to try to unify themselves.
Could WE do this here? Probably not.

Love it! Well done. :-)

I hope they didn’t demolish them.
Could WE do this here? Probably not.
We’ll just have to settle for maintaining control of our level 4 infectious disease labs.

The magnitude of what the rest of the world will do to China should match the magnitude of the damage they have caused to the world. And yeah, I fully expect that the only country willing to do anything substantive will be the U.S., and only because of Trump.
If I were king for a day, I would issue an ultimatum to the Chicom government: Either permit outside inspectors to examine the weapons lab, and to ever after monitor its activities, as well as closing all wet markets, OR face a shutdown of all travel from China, formal recognition of Taipei as the capital of China, and suspension of all agricultural products to mainland China. Should they choose the latter, I would make lifting of those measures dependent solely upon the willingness of the current government to step down and install a democratic government in its place.
Of course, all of that is unthinkable, but this current crisis was unthinkable, too. And if we dont take DRASTIC action against China it will happen again, with a possibly far more virulent pathogen next time. As we can see from the economic destruction this time around, we absolutely cannot permit this to happen again. We wouldnt survive another round of this. So what to do?
Any of my suggested measures above would likely lead to war with China, but what do we think would happen if China inflicted something like this on the world again? There would be nothing left to lose at that point, and presuming the Chicoms remained as intransigent as they are today (a certainty), the only choice left would be to threaten them with destruction (or actually destroy them). I could see a scenario if this keeps happening where we would be left with no choice but to immediately destroy any Chinese city where an outbreak was beginning.
I know, unthinkable.
