A 68-bed makeshift hospital is expected to open in Central Park on Tuesday in an effort to ease some of the strain on the city's hospitals that have been bombarded with COVID-19 patients.
The field hospital in New York City is comprised of 14 tents and will receive patients first from Mount Sinai Brooklyn and Mount Sinai Queens. Brooklyn and Queens have been the hardest-hit boroughs in the city's outbreak, according to data released by the city.
Doctors, nurses and other medical personnel will be on site, according to the evangelical Christian organization Samaritan's Purse, which helped construct the makeshift hospital.

Once the “all clear” is eventually sounded re the chinese Virus, they could leave the tents in place for such New Yorkian amenities as homeless shelters and needle exchanges.
“Central Park will be the site of a new hospital for coronavirus patients..,”
Where are they going to put all the victims of ordinary everyday crime in New York?
A grand total of SIXTY-EIGHT beds!
Sounds like the EOTWAWKI to me! Everybody panic!
Samaritan’s Purse is a great organization. They helped a lot of people around Panama City Fl after Hurricane Michael in 2018, including myself and members of my family. Aside from putting up the field hospital, there are medical personnel and others who are voluntarily going into the eye of storm in NYC and putting their lives on the line to help others.
Well another vector to spread the disease from doctors, nurses, and patients.
Samaritans Purse owns the tents (wonder if New Yorkers realize those awful evangelicals are the ones helping them)
