RICHMOND, Va. Gov. Ralph Northam announced a stay-at-home order for Virginians on Monday that takes effect immediately.
Northams executive order requires people to stay home except for limited circumstances, such as traveling to or from work, seeking medical attention, obtaining goods and services, including food, or engaging in outdoor activity.
Before today, Northam said this was a suggestion to Virginians, now, he said, its an order.
The order will stay in place until June 10, unless its amended or rescinded by a further executive order. Click here to read Executive Order 55 in its entirety.

Sounds like Richmond is about to tee up on the first hole.
Nothing like overkill.
June 10th? Why not just go until the end of the year? Maybe the end of Trump’s 1st term, even?
Hello, Tyranny. Maryland, too. We are as free as they tell us we can be.
Favorite Twitter response so far: @hilwilli Does he even have enough shoe polish to last until then?
Is he providing documentation to back up this decision?
Dem gov ‘Coonman’ Northam ... doing his part to kill the economy & hurt Trump.
Whatever, Coonman.
Some counties don’t even have cases. What’s he gonna do? Send his Night Riders into the projects and arrest people for walking around?
” Whats he gonna do? Send his Night Riders into the projects and arrest people for walking around?”
No, he’ll send them into the suburbs to give the ‘Moms Demand Action’ gang a real taste of what they voted for.
GOV Blackface showing how decisive he is. This is totally unnecessary, I hope to god Virgina throws this entire administration out. Virginia needs to change its license plate to “Virgina is for Losers”
I believe we are seeing a nation wide push to cause as much economic damage as possible. The day after announcement of FDA approval of a drug that will likely prove very effective the left is pushing to maximize the pain an destruction of this crisis.
Its essentially the same as his previous order, except now we can be sent to jail, as its a Class 1 misdemeanor.
§ 18.2-11. Punishment for conviction of misdemeanor.
The authorized punishments for conviction of a misdemeanor are:
(a) For Class 1 misdemeanors, confinement in jail for not more than twelve months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both.
Notice that it's an "order", not a request. Even here on Free Republic, many will say, "Baaaaaa".
The Founding Fathers killed other men for less.
June is rather far off to close until then. Looks suspicious.
Oh, I forgot. If you are armed, most misdemeanors in VA get bumped up to felonies.
I carry while walking the dog. Come and get me, Coonman.
Ha ha ha
