Gov. Andrew Cuomo continued to push for additional help from the federal government as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread.
There are now 66,497 confirmed coronavirus cases in New York, Cuomo said Monday, including 9,517 hospitalized, 2,352 ICU patients and 4,204 patients who have been hospitalized and discharged.
The death toll climbed to 1,218.
“Big picture is the situation is painfully clear now. There’s no question as to what we’re dealing with. There’s no question as to the consequences. There’s no question as to the grief and loss of life. And there’s no question about what we must do. There are only two missions. There are only two operations that we need to perform. First, the public has to be responsible. Stay at home,” Cuomo said. “It is a mandate. Stay at home. If you’re a non-essential worker, stay at home. If you leave the house you’re exposing yourself to danger. If you leave the house, you’re exposing others to danger.”
Cuomo said the isolation can be oppressive but “it is better than the alternative.”
Cuomo said people must stay six feet apart whenever they go out.
Cuomo again threatened to close down playgrounds if people don’t get the message and stay apart.

Why is he talking about stockpiling now? That should have been done long before this pandemic. I’m sick of him saying we should send out ventilators to him and when he’s done he will send them back. Really Andy, you want us to believe if we need our ventilators you are going to kick some New Yorker off and give them back. No. It’s the Grasshopper and the Ant with Andy desperately trying to hide his fiddle while he demands that all us ants out in flyover country sacrifice for his loathsome laziness.
How about pulling some of those respirators you have warehoused and use them?
Correct, the extremely HIGH numbers are expected in a large sanctuary city, then the Governor should have been better prepared for a pandemic, and he was not.
If not for New York City, we’d have half the deaths we have.

The federal government except for the VA does not run hospitals or clinics. It doesn’t provide health either. That is the responsibility of private businesses with government oversight. New York has not done its job with regard to healthcare for its citizens.
NYC has long embraced the romanticized concept that corruption and grifting is the NY way. We are now seeing that in full practice. This is an attempt to hoard as much medical equipment as they can get with ZERO regard for any other cities or states. And once they secure these goods, they will never give them up regardless of their actual need.
Yep! If they sick they don’t want a room at the local warehouse hospital Cuomo has waiting for them.

Cuomo has a several Billion Dollar Deficit ..with his Budget due April 1. He’s blaming Feds for Not giving NY more in the relief bill passed last week. Cuomo is a career public servant, despised by many upstate NY’rs for his anti gun, anti fracking, pro abortion BS...Lapdog NY press makes him look good,..he’s not..

The other 40 States have less than 40 deaths or none at all and should be completely functioning as normal. Yet we have closed the entire country down! I live in the 2nd largest State in the country and we are not even on the list because we only have 34 deaths yet THE ENTIRE STATE IS BASICALLY SHUT DOWN!! Lies and hysteria.
FU Cuomo. You want help from the federal government? How about you help the federal government by dropping all of your “sanctuary” cities and states BS and help apprehend people in the country illegally. FU and the horse you rode in on!
Look flame me if you want but I wish one of Trumps advisors would tell him that stockpiling masks and ventilators now is the right thing to do if you know you’ll need them in 2 weeks. I love Trump but Cuomo is right on this point.
