President Donald Trump said U.S. health officials should have a “good idea” whether an anti-malaria drug being tested as a treatment for COVID-19 is effective in fighting the coronavirus in “the next three days.”
“Hydroxychloroquine is something that I have been pushing very hard,” Trump said Monday morning during an interview on Fox News. “I think we’re going to have a good idea over the next three days because it’s been used now in New York at my request -- 1,100 people. It’s been used. I think that’s better than testing it in a laboratory. But the doctors tell me no.”
There are no proven therapies for the treatment of COVID-19 and U.S. health officials expect a vaccine could take 12 to 18 months.
New York state last week began the first large-scale clinical trial using a combination of chloroquine and Azithromycin to treat the coronavirus after the Food and Drug Administration fast-tracked the approval process.

I wish they had picked a different state. I read somewhere were NY was giving it only to people who have been put on ventilators. May not be the best use. I would rather they give it to people with symptoms, but who haven’t gotten to that point yet. The media would love to have this fail so they can keep the hysteria going.

If you look at the death trends in Worldometer, they are already trending downward, fueled by countries using the drug pair.
If they have 1099 people cured but one 96 year old person with a bad heart, lung cancer, and diabetes dies, it will be deemed a failure.

Of course there are no proven therapies! This virus is 3 months old! If you let the scientists call the shots, they will take a year to run perfect clinical trials - while people die.

It is great to get the input from the scientists, just remember, they are not decision makers! They study, study, study and write a paper and hope the scientific community agrees on their thesis!
Don’t get me wrong, the people developing treatments and vaccines are brilliant - it is the FDA and the medical industrial complex that is putting up the roadblocks.
He must know it is going well. Every - virtually every study - France, China, New York (Rockland County) have the same conclusion - incredibly effective. Only the very, very sick don’t benefit - because the get the drugs too late or are so compromised, nothing will cure them.
I’m doubting that he was touting.

Ron DeSantis: Israeli hydroxychloroquine combating coronavirus
In a media availability Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed that Israeli-sourced hydroxychloroquine is already being used in South Florida hospitals.
The hope is that hydroxychloroquine, approved for treatment of arthritis, lupus, and malaria, works off label, as a “right to try” medicine for those without other medical recourse.
The Governor said Saturday the drug would be sent to hot spots for COVID-19, including Dade, Broward, Hillsborough and Orange counties.
The Governor noted Saturday that it is being used in New York, and offered anecdotal evidence of a “Floridian in very bad shape” who “used it and it seemed to clear up the lungs and the virus.”
“I’m not a doctor. I’m not telling anyone to take it or not to take it,” DeSantis added. “This is just something that doctors may have at their disposal.”
It seems we may have an answer from Dr Raoult now. Stay tuned.

Missing from the story is the word ‘zinc’, the part of the treatment triad left out of Dr. Zelenko’s successes. Zinc inteferes with the ability of the virus to replicate and destroy the lung / organs of victim, setting up cytokine storm.
Read the limitations placed by globalist governors - not allowed unless hospitalized (lung damage has already occurred), so virus allowed to replicate to wreak maximum damage.

That’s probably ok. Most people with less severe symptoms will spontaneously recover. The treatment is being given to those in a more dire condition whio might otherwise not recover. This will also reduce the possibility of running out of the drug.
I just wish he would stop talking like this for a while. Let the HCQ be given and see what happens. Stop raising expectations . If it works, take a well deserved bow. But if it fails and you’ve raised hope then that is a double whammy on him and on the nation’s morale.
