And I think that 1 death was an 86 or 87 year old that was very advanced on arrival and when treatment began.

Unbelievable. It's crazy how even in this urgent time where everyone is ostensibly looking for the answer this guy just keeps plugging away - showing the way - and relatively few people want to talk about it.

If Hydroxycholorquine+azithromycin continues showing these kinds of positive results, this guy is a world hero in my book.

Look at France’s numbers. The graphics are looking better than any other country I’ve checked so far:

If it did work, we could end the social distancing today. Hmm...why would they NOT want to end this social distancing today?

BIG PHARMA and INVESTORS want to make money on their vaccinations.

“The French Dr. even looks like a wizard from the Lord of the Rings!”
That’s great. The question is whether he is Gandalf the White or the evil Saruman from Lord of the Rings. I’m going with Gandalf.
The French doctor also looks like the doctor from Independence Day.

Is the “it does not work” also anecdotal? Or did you just brainlessly throw that in?

Not getting into whether it works or not but that Frenchie hospital’s website is being deliberately misleading with statistics. Not surprising.

At the bottom right of the page you’ll see two numbers. One is the total number of patients treated with the combination at that hospital which is 1291 at the moment. This number includes people treated for 1, 2, 3 days or more.

Below this is the number of patients who were treated with this combination for more than 3 days who died, ie, 4 days or greater. He’s not counting anyone who was treated with this combination with 1, 2, or 3 days who died.

He’s making comparisons between two numbers he should not be.

There’s clearly a reason for this. He’s including everyone in the first group but the second group is the people who are already more likely to survive since they survived in the hospital for 4 or more days. There are probably a lot of people in the 1, 2, and 3 days of treatment who died since they wouldn’t be admitted unless their situation was very serious anyway. This hospital needs to make honest comparisons considering people are holding out a lot of hope for this. This doctor has played similar games before.

Since he’s playing games with statistics, I also wonder whether he’s playing games with who gets the drug in the first place. If he doesn’t include the most serious patients who are likely to go on a ventilator and not survive, he can make himself look even better.

No, these are all the objections by the people who don’t want to give Trump credit for this medication working.

Look at France’s numbers. The graphics are looking better than any other country I’ve checked so far:

The graph: Outcome of Cases (Recovery or Death) in France is very interesting.

I believe 3/16/2020 is when Raoult published his study.

If you look at the graph I mentioned there is a PRECIPITOUS drop of death rate and a PRECIPITOUS increase in the recovery rate ever since 3/16/2020. Coincidence?

I'm not sure I'm reading the graph correctly as it says on March 16th, 92.5% of "closed cases" were due to death (climbing steadily since 3/1/2020) and 7.5% were due to recovery. Then on March 17th, 22% were due to death and 78% were due to recovery, which has kind of stabilized.

’ So treating the asymptomatic probably isn’t practical.’

Outright stupidity given Dr. Zelenko’s successes. The COVID-19 is working to replicate itself before symptoms show, and symptoms are likely result of lung damage, among other organs. When symptoms start, it may only be a matter of hours before the cytokine storm set up by the damaged lungs / organs sets off and kills the patient.

PLEASE NOTE FOLKS,the caveat:

I looked at the study from Dr. Didier Raoult ( the first and second one he published, the second study with 80 patients ).

The advantage of hydroxychloroqine is its potential reduction in length of stay of Covid-19 positive patients who are not that severely ill, reducing the burden on the hospitals. THIS IS STILL SIGNIFICANT!

But I also want to see lives saved !

I hope it also helps in significant reduction in mortality (especially for the very ill, e.g. on ventilators ), but widespread usage still needs to prove that.

There are probably a lot of people in the 1, 2, and 3 days of treatment who died since they wouldn’t be admitted unless their situation was very serious anyway.

Hmmm. That's worth considering. I haven't found anywhere that this was stated either way, but now I know to look out for it.

What you're saying is that patient X arrives and is treated with the combo. Patient X dies that day, or the next, or the next. Patient X is therefore not counted in this particular statistic as a death because they didn't receive the full course of treatment. Do I have that right?

I'll keep an eye open for that from here out.

Common sense does tell me that the more critical you are when a drug is administered, the less chance it has of working. You can't reasonably expect somebody who is several hours away from death has near as much of a chance that any pill is going to work.

That's why I've sort of bought into the "prescribe immediately after positive confirmation even if symptoms are mild" argument.

Thanks for providing more to consider.

We’ll see. If the deaths come out to be 0,7% of all infected what your good doctor has done by treating 600 some patients may have prevented 3 or 4 deaths which is going to turn out to be “suggestive” but not statistically significant.

Raoult is dealing with 1200 patients who are all “serious” at best. A MUCH better population to derive a significant result from, and sounds like he has done the job. After reading his earlier paper carefully I can perfectly see how he probably has done just that. We can differ on treating the “asymptomatic” but world wide, what are we up to? Total cases approaching 800,000. Somehow I doubt there is enough Plaquenil in the world to treat every asymptomatic case.

Meh... I was on that crap for the better part of two years while working in West Africa and South America. Besides some really awesome dreams, I had no side effects whatsoever.

There’s a link between covid19 virus deaths and pre-existing diabetes/pre-diabetes conditions.

Hydroxycloroquine lowers your glucose level and can also prevent diabetes.

Trump has taken secret control of France. Don’t believe anything coming out of France — they surrendered to the Prince of Orange.
