Number of patients added since yesterday to this treatment plan was 288.

NY was going to start this treatment regimen on Tuesday, and so we would have known something definitive yesterday. Then, yesterday, Trump says they really didn't start until Thursday.
At this point I am beginning to lean toward conspiracy. How did we not get started on Tuesday like they said we were? I am trying not to let my tinfoil side become oversized, but good grief!
7/100’s of a % death rate compared to 1.8% worldwide.....impressive.
-It does not work.
-It is anecdotal.
-There are significant risks to this medication.
-Trump lied, people died.
The French Dr. even looks like a wizard from the Lord of the Rings!
I wonder if they are using this in Italy yet.
I’m with you. It’s almost like there’s a magic cloak over this treatment. How is it we’re this far in and we still don’t know if it works? Some sources say it does. Some say it doesn’t.
If it did work, we could end the social distancing today. Hmm...why would they NOT want to end this social distancing today?

Yes it’s being used as standard treatment now in Italy.
The most unbelievable thing is that the FDA would still be refusing to recognize its value and encourage its use were it not for President Trump forceing the issue.

+++++
Yes that is very good. But most people dont end up in the hospital after they are infected. Ive heard 10% to 20%. if so that would take your .7% down by a factor of 5 to 10 for the full population of infected persons.
Gotta love this anecdotal treatment.
I agree with you but the reports, which were hard to come by, had the test starting last Tuesday or tomorrow. They were still getting people to agree to take part last week.
No transparency. I am starting to think the conspiracy people who say because there’s no money to be made on it (generic cheap) and because Trump promoted it, it will be slow-walked through and only given to the sickest on ventilators. I would give them priority for sure, but I’d give it to everyone diagnosed since it may not be that effective with the very sick with lung damage.
I’m not seeing ANY Italy death numbers any more at worldometer.
curious indeed
Hes starting to get into numbers that could show a decrease in mortality. The earlier paper did not.
If you look at the curved graphs (death) there you will notice the same trend as in the US. There is a slight curve downward. This thing may be peaking worldwide.
They are usually one of the last countries to be reported there. Yesterday they had 756 deaths listed.
As we get to the point where we have good data on decreased mortality we have a clearer picture of who should get the drugs and when. Dr Raoult makes a good case for treating mild patients as outpatients or even asymptomatic patients but for a couple considerations. There may not be enough drug in the world to give everyone thats positive the drugs. The risk doesnt outweigh the benefit, either. A # of people will get the drugs when they shouldnt have and cause morbidity as a side effect, as well. So treating the asymptomatic probably isnt practical. I think a case can be made for treating someone in mildly ill category not for the sake of the patient but to reduce shed virus. If we have enough to do that.
All patients admitted as serious but not critical should have a G6PD done on admission. The drugs should be started as soon as the test comes back. People who are admitted in extremis SHOULD NOT get the drugs until the G6PD is back.
At this point thats my take on it. There are other exclusions to the Quinines as well, History of arrhythmia, etc.
-It does not work.Who knew Nancy Pelosi had an account on FR?

-Trump lied, people died.
