ZURICH (Reuters) - Novartis Chief Executive Vas Narasimhan said his Sandoz generics unit's malaria, lupus and arthritis drug hydroxychloroquine is the company's biggest hope against the coronavirus, Swiss newspaper SonntagsZeitung reported on Sunday.
Novartis has pledged to donate 130 million doses and is supporting clinical trials needed before the medicine, which U.S. President Donald Trump also has been promoting, can be approved for use against the coronavirus.
Other companies including Bayer and Teva have also agreed to donate hydroxychloroquine or similar drugs, while Gilead Sciences is testing its experimental drug remdesivir against coronavirus.

I just ordered some, but I won't hold my breath on its timely arrival.
They list a number of zinc picolinate products, but only two are orderable with quantity limits, and one of those is apparently out of stock (but the website isn't updated). They don't accept Amazon Pay or PayPal on back ordered items (the choices are grayed out), and only the one I ordered allowed those payment methods. Interestingly, it was the cheapest of all they offered. Do people think it's no good because it's cheap?
Just placed an order with Swanson.com. Had a couple of other things to get for my eye condition. Thanks again for the data.
It is also the lowest dose formulation. I had to order those also.
Appreciate the info. Did it!
The whole range of anti-inflammatory drugs seems worth investigating including biologics.
The key is to control/modulate the immune response which is causing the horrendous pneumonia while the virus runs its course.
This is exactly what people with auto-immune disorders go through with their respective conditions.
The chloroquine drugs also have an added component which disrupts the virus mechanics.
How much D3?
1 caltrate twice a day. 1600IU D3 total. That is their recommended dose and happens to be the dose studied.
TY
But you’d better hurry ‘cause it’s goin’ fast!
