We’ve been had and Trump knows it
American Thinker ^ | March 28, 2020 | Geoffrey P. Hunt

While President Trump closed the US border against entry from China at the end of January, his overall instinct was right. The CCP virus was nasty, but no worse than a supercharged flu.

Health professionals overwhelmed Trump and his inner circle with doomsday scenarios, bullied by panic obsessed virologists and epidemiologists -- begging for attention and copying the alarmist playbook from the climate/global warming extremists, allied with the MSM Trump-haters.

And now the government has completely suffocated economic demand, creating a depression, an unnecessary calamity that is destroying lives, livelihoods, families, and fortunes for a generation. It is becoming apparent that the end-of-the-world predictions, computer models warning of an apocalyptic black plague worldwide, are all wrong.

Those paying attention were warned that the worse-case scenarios were hysterical, by the likes of Stanford epidemiologist John P.A. Ioannidis.

In dramatic fashion UK Imperial College scientist Neil Ferguson published a doomsday scenario on March 16. Now just ten days later, he has reversed his outlook, essentially settling on a prediction no worse than a bad flu season.

Most telling, the two US public health icons, Drs Fauci and Birx, are both saying the extreme models that provoked extreme measures, bear little resemblance to the actual data on the ground. From the New England Journal of Medicine March 26 co-authored by Fauci :

We’ve been had and Trump knows it

If Trump is as smart and capable as I think he is he will TURN this situation in his favor, which he's already began to do, and ride it to victory.

I think you underestimate the $ that are spent on bureaucracy. I absolutely think that we could spend less on medical care & have better care. First step is higher deductible policies that put $ into HSA. If the G’vt or States covered the deductible the first year the $ in the HSA would cover a good portion the next year and over time people would amass a sizable investment nest egg. High deductible plans are much cheaper to buy.
There are many other powerful avenues to pursue to lower overhead, tailor plans to the person etc. Looking intelligently at what tests would generate the quickest diagnosis for a given suspected ailment or organ system rather than just doing the cheapest test first & moving up the $ chain would save lives & dollars.

Unlike you, we are influenced by reality and fact. Wishing reality away doesn’t make it go away. Ferguson never “reversed” his findings as this article falsely claims. The things stated in this article are not true - regardless of whether or not you believe the modeling had any credibility, Ferguson never reversed his previous findings - he released two completely different models to represent two different scenarios - doing nothing vs. social distancing. Anyone who took even a second to research that would know that - so this author is either being less than honest, or hasn’t done any research on the subject but is writing about it anyway. And we can observe what has occurred in other countries further along in this process than we are to know it has greatly affected them much, much worse than a bad flu - we are trying to prevent suffering the same fate. That is just reality. A false article to go along with your desire for confirmation bias of a reality that doesn’t exist doesn’t make it true. You are just wrong. Like the Left commonly does, you can mock people who observe and adhere to reality all you want, but that doesn’t change what reality is. We can’t just wish it away.

I’m optimistic this will clear up by the end of summer and our economy will emerge weakened but not fatally so.

This will take a decade for the economy come back and will pave the way for socialism. Oh they will change how the economy is measured like they did with inflation, but the bottom line is the fascist left and spoungey right has achieved the goal of getting rid of Trump, eliminating capitalism and introducing the new world order and making you a serf.

Virtually everything in this article is indeed false - but it provides a source of confirmation bias for those who wish to live in an alternate reality. Ferguson also never reversed his previous findings as this article claims - it was a different model running a different scenario. Even a cursory amount of research reveals that fact and anyone paying attention when it was reported knows that. The author at best is willfully ignorant and is just making it up as he goes along.

That OAN article is the false source of this fake news.

Click through the link in the article to the New England Journal of Medicine article by Fauci. Scroll to the bottom:

“This editorial was published on February 28, 2020, at NEJM.org.”

Fauci didn’t back track. He ramped up his estimate.

Again, that statistic is irrelevant. The actual death rate is # confirmed deaths / (# confirmed cases + mild cases not tested + assymptomatic cases not tested). WE DONT KNOW THE LAST TWO! Once we have antibody study we can find out though! But all of the latest models suggest the last two are 20 to 100 times the size of the first one.

Regardless of whether or not Ferguson's models have credibility, that's just a falsehood. He released a second model based on social distancing policies being implemented vs. doing nothing as the first model did.

Chuckle!
Exactly what is he point of making crazy predictions for mass death, without taking into account all factors, including promising drugs like Chloroquine, which have been effective in France and just yesterday approved by the Indian government as well as other very promising drugs under testing right now, plus other normal preventive measures that are taken to combat every other infectious disease for over a hundred years?
Its like me saying 10 million people will die from car accidents this year by making the assumption that everyone will drive at 100 miles per hour.
Its garbage predictions based on garbage modeling.
Dr Ferguson has a lot to answer for.

Rural state of Maine shut down. We have one death of a 80 year old man. What a scam. The left and media are good. Even on this site they have turned once conservatives into government teat sucking globalists.

Apart from every single thing in the article being spot on, you are right. In other words, you are 100% wrong.
