Appearing on Fridays CBS This Morning, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams lectured the media on hyping worst-case scenario projections about the coronavirus pandemic that have so far proven to be way off. His comments came after co-host Gayle King took jabs at President Trump for making a similar point in a recent interview, despite having no medical training.
You know, doctors and nurses around the country are saying, Hello, government, we need ventilators, we need ventilators now. But President Trump seems to have a different take on that, King fretted as she teed up a clip of the President talking to Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday night.
In the soundbite, Trump argued: But I have a feeling that a lot of the numbers that are being said in some areas are just bigger than theyre going to be. I dont believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators.
Despite top medical expert Dr. Deborah Birx making that exact same point during Thursdays Coronavirus Task Force press briefing, King bemoaned the Presidents remarks: Dr. Adams, the President, to our knowledge, has no medical training, yet he continues to question the advice from the medical experts and professionals. Is that frustrating to you?
The Surgeon General joined his colleague Dr. Birx in scolding the media for constantly seizing on the most dire scenarios, even as the facts on the ground tell a very different story:

Gayle King needs to just go away
I wonder what Gayle King’s Fearper profile name is in here..
Saw him. He was excellent.
The get & destroy Trump movement in the media is becoming more and more obvious to everyone except those that are infected with Trump Derangement syndrome.
As ususal. :-)
LOL!
I could write 6 or 7 possible ones from what I’ve seen but I’d get in trouble :)
Maybe all those Fearpers will get the last laugh and I’ll be gasping their names in a month in the back of some hospital while trying to trying to build a ventilator from a plastic bag, a vacuum hose and a blender :)
There is a national passive meditation drill scheduled for this afternoon.
You described it perfectly. I love it when black liberals run the line that someone like Dr. Adams isn’t black enough to know what he’s talking about. They’re such hypocrites. I’ve never watched CBS Morning, and never will. I think the last morning show I ever watched was the Today show when Dave Garroway was still hosting, J. Fred Muggs made appearances, and they were doing the live “Timex” tests, like the one where they strapped a Timex to an outboard motor, turned on the motor, and showed that the watch was still ticking after the test was completed.
he was great this morning. They were battering him with gotcha questions and he didn't fall for a single one. Too bad the media doesn't ask important questions of this man, like what are the things we should continue doing to protect ourselves as WE RETURN TO WORK.
Apparently I have much to learn. I built my ventilator out of a common household blender, six feet of rubber hose, a pair of cotton balls, a protractor, a headlight from a Ford 8N tractor, a common brown bat, a photo of Raquel Welch, and, of course, a Cleveland phone book.
ROFL!!
You used the wrong phone book!! :)
I am VERY IMPRESSED with our surgeon general this young man has come a long way he is very young seems to be a hard worker!! His parents did a great job raising him!!!
Or maybe not... Either way I want to see you build that damn machine! Lol!!
:)
I have the time now :-)
Hell yes you do. Lol!
Well, it was the only one I could find. Who has phonebooks these days?
lol
Well then it’s ok. :)
Gayle King doesn’t like the President offering comments on medical issues without any formal medical training - but she herself was commenting on the same matters and I assume she also has no medical training to justify her own comments - glaring hypocrisy.
