The House of Representatives on Friday started debating the CCP virus relief package the Senate passed earlier in the week as President Donald Trump called for ejecting a GOP representative who is considering blocking a vote on the legislation.
.@RepThomasMassie is one of the most principled men in Congress & loves his country. He is defending the Constitution today by requiring a quorum. Theres nothing 3rd rate about that, @realDonaldTrump. I may miss vote if he forces roll call (flights) but it will pass. Back off. https://t.co/ms8TM3rJp8
Representatives entered the House chamber to begin up to three hours of debate on the Senate Amendment to H.R. 748. The bill outlines payments to people and businesses, billions for airlines, and a large small business support.
Members were told in an updated schedule that leaders were hopeful the bill will pass by voice vote but that they should travel to Washington if theyre able and willing. Some lawmakers boarded flights early Friday.

Republicans need a new candidate in that district.
If the only impact of what Massie is doing here is a delay of several hours as House members are forced to show up and vote, then I'm fine with it.
If it's OK for police officers, EMTs, hospital staff and grocery store workers to be exposed to COVID-19 during the course of their work, then I'd say every member of Congress should get off their ass and go to the Capitol to vote.
If the name sounds familiar ... he's one of the attorneys representing Nick Sandmann and the Covington Catholic students who are suing all those mainstream media outlets over the infamous "Chief Ten Teeth" incident at the March for Life in January 2019.
To the degree infection concerns are a problem and less congressional travel is desirable this points out another thing Congress should have been staying put in DC to accomplish. In appropriate emergencies, eg. nuclear war, Yellowstone going off, plagues it may be physically impossible or highly undesirable for Congress to physically convene for some stretch of time. Presuming enough communications still exist to permit it, remote congressional sessions and voting would be better than none. Exec branch has contingency plans to stay in operation during big disasters, Congress should too. But Congress apparently needs to make new rules on itself to allow that. That has been mentioned by a few reps and senators during this shutdown, but they haven't done their jobs to write and pass the rules. Remote voting probably shouldn't be allowed for normal circumstances nor for trivial personal reasons (eg. Congresscritter wants to attend a campaign rally out of DC and still vote); in just what circumstances to allow it will need some debate. There's no reason committees can't work on it at the same time as the bailout bill.
Maybe the fact that he is 100% pri-Constitution, pro-gun and speaks plainly and honestly.
It’s people like you who will end up turning us into a variation of Zimbabwe.
What is it about a $2 trillion-dollar cowflop that suggests "victory" to you?
That Mitt makes my eyes glaze over.
debating?? This is about....we’ll get them the next time.
On Goolag just now:
Thomas Massie - Wikipediaen.wikipedia.org wiki Thomas_Massie Thomas Harold Massie (born January 13, 1971) is an American
Republican politician and dotard who has been the
United States Representative for Kentucky's ...
Electrical engineering and mechanical engineering at MIT, so not a politician.
With all the unerring political instincts of a losertarian...
There’s going to be a real record of the vote.
That is what in effect he has done - they were the ones throwing wrenches in the cogs and were vulnerable to that politically - he just threw them a lifeline.
Is there a quorum in town right now?
The filing deadline passed - but he does have an opponent in the primary - one of the attorneys that represented the Covington Catholic families. However, beyond that, I have no idea where he stand philosophically.

Massie wasn't bright enough or Trump enough to attach conditions on the state of the quorum for his "Yes" vote.
As in, many of the things you mention.
These are adult issues, and as such, the children in the CONgrift will avoid them as long as possible.
I noticed the business of the 47-47 vote(s) on Sunday - and the fact that 5 Republicans were out "quarantined", and zero Democrats - even though Amy Klobuchar's hubby was coughing up blood...
DC Kabuki at its finest.
Apparently not - otherwise this would be meaningless as a recorded vote just takes about 15 minutes to complete.
Trump was making dark noises about a "grandstander" at the covid briefing yesterday. This is the guy.
Exactly, not happy will many of the giveaways, massive giveaways
I think its the possibility of a 4 month vacation with pay. Including $1,200-$X,XXX “stimulus”?
