The Constitution does not allow for a line item veto.
Unfortunately, there is no line item veto. He must either sign or veto any bill in its entirety.
Dear goodness I think many of us here are pulling our hair out. I thought that the Senate bill did not have the ballot harvesting in it. That is the bill that I thought Pelosi is voting on today. How is it that some of us here still believe the ballot harvesting is in that bill? Without causing utter confusion again can somebody please verify with validity the current bill of the Senate either does or does not have this in it? Thank you

The ballot harvesting was removed.
First, the line item veto was declared unconstitutional by SCOTUS. Second, the ballot harvesting garbage is not in the bill passed by the senate. That was in Pelosi’s trash bill that she withdrew when it blew up in her face.

There’s ten pages of the bill that discuss regulations on sunscreen ingredients and line items for three daycare centers in DC, and that was just stuff I found on a casual skimmingm. all of the ridiculousness was done to buy that 96-0 vote quickly. Good luck finding enough legislators who don’t have a hand in the cookie jar to pass anything. Better Trump sign it and then name some names later than fight it and look in effective. It’s not good fiscal policy, but what actually has been in the last fifty years?
