Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made it clear this would be the Senate's last opportunity to pass the bill before they go on recess until after Easter break.

So it appears that the national bail out isn't THAT important. Anyone else ever have to work holidays on here?

Spreading all that pork around is tiring don’t you know?
Plus they have to report back directly to their big donors and detail how each donor is going to profit from Porkulus 2.

Scanning the titles of the sections, the only thing I could see that was remotely off-topic is the suspension of Student Loan terms, and that could arguably be considered on-topic.

Recess? The rest of the country is on a forced recess, and Congress sees no problem with taking their normally scheduled days off? On the other hand, at least they cant do any more damage while theyre off.

It’s this, only far worse:

I was mentioning to my wife this morning that the reason the stock market is skyrocketing up is not because they like the stimulus. It is because they are going in with “soon to be worthless” dollars.
i.e. it’s reflecting not the value of the stocks, but the value of the dollar being used to purchase them.

The benefit would be reduced by $5 increments for each $100 the individual taxpayer makes over the $75,000 threshold. A $150,000 limitation applies to couples and a $112,500 limit for heads of households. I know some of you will blow a gasket for me saying this, but for two income families in many states, a joint income of $150K isn't that much.
Glad the hair weave crowd is celebrating their windfall check.

Under the circumstances of a national emergency, why isnt Congress in session as needed? Last chance before Easter break????
If I recall correctly, the President can call the Congress into session at his discretion. He should cancel their Easter break and tell them to stick around to pass needed legislation.
This is no time for a Congressional vacation.

Don't worry, the Globalists will have us all on the new Digital Dollar very soon.
And then, the real tyranny begins...

It seems to me a more credible threat would be to say that the Senate would not recess until a bill acceptable to the President was passed.

This is McConnell at his hardball best. He's just told Pelosi that this is a take it or leave it bill, and that she can't play any more games because the Senate won't be there to take up another bill.
If the House doesn't pass this, all the blame will go on her and the Democrats. That would be catastrophic for them, so they'll pass it.
It's checkmate.

Guessing the screwing is in the ‘associated bills’ category. And, like I said, nanzi said “We’ll see.”
