Doctors,is this correct?
Why does the CDC chart Pneumonia and Influenza together?
I wonder why the entire world is shutting down over this China flu then. Oh that’s right it’s a conspiracy to take down Trump and steal all our retirement savings by crashing all the worlds economies./s
So what number of Covid-19 deaths will it take before we stop hearing the flu comparisons? 60,000? 100,000?
ICU capacity where I live is almost maxed out. Then what? Whats the life expectancy for someone that needs a ventilator but all of them are occupied? Do you take the 70-year-old guy off a ventilator to give one to a 50-year-old with two kids? A doctor over the teacher? Those are the decisions that hospitals will be forced to make due to Covid-19. Not the flu.
Covid patients are in ventilators 11-21 days on average.
Or the heads of government believe it is a bioweapon.
New York broke it’s record for Flu cases this season on FEB 22.
They have since added about 22K more flu cases.
https://nyshc.health.ny.gov/web/nyapd/new-york-state-flu-tracker
still haven’t even reached the 61,000 deaths number we had from flu in 2017-2018 season.
I think it’s because the lamestream media finally ran out of those Russian stories and the impeachment fell flat they needed something to keep relevant and inflame the hysteria.
“So what number of Covid-19 deaths will it take before we stop hearing the flu comparisons? 60,000? 100,000?”
I’m sure those big numbers would get the Flu off the headlines, but right now we are just over 1,000 CV19 deaths in the USA.

Why doesn’t the seasonal flu overwhelm our medical services the way C19 is doing?
Close to half of those 1,037 US deaths are from NY and WA.
so we are half the rate of deaths in the 2017-2018 flu season.. and yet.. I dont recall any news coverage of the deaths that year? or emergency room being over run, or bodies pilling up?
hm.. makes you wonder.
Time for America to be “Open for Business”
Being safe and being open are not mutually exclusive
The “Pneumonia + Influenza” total is used just for the CDC weekly influenza survey.
The CDC does not settle on a final death toll for just influenza until many months after flu season is over.
The CDC has made a very broad estimate for influenza from 01 October 2019 to 14 March 2020.
Influenza Cases - 38 million to 54 million
Influenza Hospitalizations - 390,000 to 710,000
Influenza Deaths - 23,000 to 59,000

They’re really not comparable to the extent that the population numbers in 1918 and 2018 are so different from each other....so it’s a percentage of the population that is comparable.
Probably for the same reason they're charting Coronavirus, pneumonia, stroke, MI, anaphylactic shock, DKA, etc together. I think you can figure it out from there.
“I wonder why the entire world is shutting down over this China flu then.”
Wrong question.
Your question should be:
“Why hasn’t the entire world shut down for the common flu virus prior to this?”
Any answers?

True, but still trending to be the 2nd most sever from 2009 to now.
I would say when the number of deaths from Coronavirus surpasses the average number of flu deaths per year for say the last 40 years.
