Hundreds of missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints streamed through the doors of Salt Lake City International Airport on Sunday and were greeted by a large group of family and friends, marking an atypical detour in their religious service for the Utah-based faith.
The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus has prompted the church to adapt its foundational proselytizing program, shuttering Missionary Training Centers worldwide and scrambling to return young men and women to their native countries.

Were they ever allowed to do their missionary work in China?
Latter Day Sickos
I know many families are very glad to have them safely at home. Thank You Lord.
Local LDS church was empty on Sunday March 15can you imagine how long ago that seems? That was before schools and the local college had canceled classes. At least the observant Mormons will likely have food stored up. Don’t know about TP.
Very tolerant, are we? What has your family sacrificed for God lately?
Yeah, and I witnessed these “observant Mormons” at the local grocery stores around northern Utah binge grocery shopping, hording food! Nothing admirable about that!
Another silver lining to this cloud. Hopefully they stay there.
Just a gratuitous slap, I guess. Tells me more about you than it does about them.
I know their families were really happy to have them home, but I hope they didnt hug them and they will self isolate for two weeks.
Magic underwear no longer working?
I was baptized a Mormon when I was a kid and when I grew up I realized how cultish they are. I’m born again now. I’m no saint but I help my elderly neighbors. I won’t know how I’ll end up. Nobody does.
You are correct.
It is better they are safely at home with their loved ones, and not out misleading people.
Salt Lake City....the next NYC.
It’s not hundreds, it’s 12,000 I believe.
And no, based on the behavior at the SLC airport, there won’t be and self-isolation.
Utah will probably be the next hot-spot.
Praise the Lord!
but will they be able to play basketball or football, that’s the question.
While they won’t be spreading Joseph Smith’s delusions around the world, they may spread Chicom Flu around Utah.
I hope God keeps all these people safe. I disagree with them, but hope to see Gods mercy on them as well as me and on the church where I minister.
Oddly...today of all days was the first time I had heard/read about the Meadow Massacre. Still reading.
