As Senate Republicans were reeling late Monday following two unsuccessful procedural votes on their version of a coronavirus response bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., released her chamber's version of legislation to fight the disease and its economic effects -- and it includes a raft of provisions with questionable relevance to the pandemic that has killed more than 17,000 worldwide and sickened more than 390,000.
The $2.5 trillion package includes many of the same elements as the Senate bill, which is still being negotiated as of Tuesday morning -- Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says he expects to vote on a Senate bill by Tuesday night. These similarities include support for workers and small businesses financially impacted by the large-scale economic slowdown from stemming the spread of the outbreak; help for hospitals and health care workers in need of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies; tax breaks for average Americans; direct cash assistance to all adult Americans and other measures directly applicable to the crisis at hand.
But it also includes a number of other measures that have rankled Republicans, including funding for the Kennedy Center -- a performing arts center in Washington, D.C. -- the elimination of the U.S. Postal Service's debt to the treasury, a requirement that airlines accepting assistance under the bill have a union representative on their board, environmental regulations for airlines and more.
Pelosi argued that the Senate bill, unlike the House's, would "put corporations first, not workers and families." Republicans, on the other hand, argued that Democrats are using the pandemic to push through the left's agenda items under the pretense of a bill to fight the coronavirus.
"They ought to be embarrassed," ...Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said of similar proposals being pushed by Senate Democrats. "There is no time for this nonsense."

politicians, ideologues, bureaucrats and their cronies are realizing that this coronavirus panic is a historical, once-in-a-lifetime, golden opportunity to absolutely rob the country blind.
The Democrats are seriously vastly more deadly than the Wuhan coronavirus disease. Foremost, the Democrats enthusiastically support and demonically celebrate the mass killing of innocent unborn Americans and aim progressively to extend that culture of death to encompass the killing of the elderly, aged, infirm, and mentally ill. Moreover, their increasingly overt compulsory atheism intentionally conspires to kill the souls of any Americans so infected and condemn them to everlasting torture in Hell. The collapse of family life and the displacement of parents in favor of the state in the rearing of children leaves a generation of mostly fatherless young adults without the benefit of a true education, usually afflicted with depression, anxiety, or some other mental illness that makes them, ill-formed and oppressed, particularly susceptible to infection with the disease of communism.
And that doesn’t even touch the almost impenetrable labyrinthine web of arcane government regulations, designed to favor well-connected lobbyists and high-dollar bribers and to leave the peons to die quietly in the hinterlands of drug and alcohol poisoning, suicide, despair.
All of that was true even before the current communist takeover, using the coronavirus crisis as a pretense, effectively outlawed a third of the economy, closed the churches nationwide, and severely limited the constitutional right of the people peaceably to assemble. Of course, outlawing a third of the economy necessarily causes a severe economic depression, which constitutes another pretext for drastic unconstitutional maneuvers to impose communism.
The bill for this aid package should not take any more that three pages. All this other crap is disgusting. Trump should get the Republicans in the Senate to get after all the pork and send it back. Either that or veto it. But that’s just what the Dems want him to do.

The GOPee Senators are hiding under their desks right now. They have no idea how to stop the Democrats. They do, but they don’t have the courage to stop them. Our Senator John Cornyn was on one of the Fox Shows this morning. You could tell he was about to crap his pants with fear of having to fight the RATS. His mealy mouth was in full panic mode.
Well they can stop reporting on this. Senate looks to be working with the WH version. Schumer and Nancy caved

Pelosi is throwing every piece of legislative spaghetti at the wall, knowing some of the crap she wants will likely get left in as a compromise.
Trump and McConnel should hold a joint presser, telling the people that Pelosi needs to send a clean bill to the Senate, not a Democratic party Christmas wish list.
