Democrats in Congress must quit holding up relief bill over irrelevant demands
New York Post ^ | March 23, 2020 | Post Editorial Board

Hey, congressional Democrats: In case you haven’t noticed, the economy is headed for a crash. Stop playing games — and do your jobs.

On Sunday and again Monday, New York’s own Chuck Schumer led Senate Democrats in shooting down a nearly $2 trillion rescue package, demanding a host of goodies that have little or nothing to do with saving the economy or aiding those in need.

Some of their demands, in fact, could actually undermine recovery.

“This has got to stop,” fumed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. “The country is out of time.” Damn right.

Among the Dems’ demands: new collective-bargaining powers for unions, a lifeline for the Postal Service and a host of climate-change rules — never mind the rapidly approaching freight train headed straight for the US economy.

“I’d like to see Senate Democrats tell New York City nurses and doctors” that they’re “filibustering” hospital funds because they “want to argue with the airlines over their carbon footprint,” said McConnell.

They seem to think they can hold the country for ransom. Some of their demands limit the flexibility of firms or deter them from taking loans. It will hurt workers, who won’t be hired thanks to the strings attached.

Alas, Democrats insist on pushing countless unrelated progressive mandates:
Diversity on corporate boards.
 Early voting and same-day registration.
 New limits on greenhouse gases.
 Minority credit unions and banks.
 Retirement packages for community newspapers.

It’s just outrageous to be holding up this bill over such concerns. The government has shut down countless companies that still have bills to pay.

Gov. Cuomo, and Newsome need to show some balls to protect their citizens / economy (assuming they really want to do this) and call out this rediculous Pelosi stunt and it will go away quickly. Will they??

Or an alternative headline:

QUARANTINED REPUBLICAN SENATORS IN HAZMAT SUITS VOTE!

It would be so glorious to see them do this and put the minority leader back in his place.

This s not going to end well...for Pelosi. Remember when Pelosi held up the articles of impeachment from the US Senate?
How did that end or her?
As far as I m concerned, she can hold this bill up forever. Under no circumstances should her crazy demands be met.

Cuomo and Newome?
They are the spearhead of the Democratic Party plot to take down President Trump using cronavirus. Personally, I am pretty suspicious of all these coronavirus figures coming from those two states.

They keep hanging out in Washington DC long enough in close quarters...

Congress is basically a nursing home. Not a good survival rate when it inevitably hits over half of them.

the GOP is so week, so pathetic, so antiAmerican,
that they would agree with Pelosi to put feces
on the floor of the Senate, if they could.

The voters will remember this come November. I just love how they are making it certain that President Trump will win re-election!

The word “diversity” appears 32 times in the House bill.

I echo Mitch McConnell, “Pelosi is the Speaker of the House, not the Senate!” She has no dog in this hunt now that the Senate is negotiating the bill. NANCY, GO HOME!

"Democrats in Congress must quit holding up relief bill over irrelevant demands"

Isn't it interesting that President Trump hasn't called the Dems out on this?

I think he's biding his time to see how the virus threat plays out before he spends a ton of money. He knows that kind of spending (not to mention all the Dem pork that's been added) will harm the country.

It is a sad day that the RATS only care about power. Bottom line they do not care about the American people only illegals and how they accumulate power. I just hope this wakes some other American people up when November comes.

I also hope our President has all the issues he faced, etc written down somewhere so when the time is right he can come out and state it. I see him at the podium wanting to say something be will not because of the gravity of this crisis even though the RATS don’t care.
