The coronavirus can survive on surfaces for up to 17 days, a study published Monday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.

Thanks for posting the link. So CDC has not let the company test their virus killing UV system on coronavirus. Testing needs to happen asap.
They already do..sort of.
Dont remember the term but tests have been done on it on various surfaces and determined its strength as time went by in certain measurements.
a virus needs a cell to live off of, I get the 3-4 days on plastic or steel that is typical 7 days is most often the outside time
“Colorado company uses UV lighting technology to kill 99.9 percent of bacteria and viruses”
Jacuzzis / Hot tubes have had that for years. Zero surprise there are other applications.
You are correct.
just saw a story that a former Govt person is claiming CDC lied to the PResident about testing capabilities in the beginning
Did it get room service or was it able to eat in the main dining room?
17 days is a maximum.
And consider this statement from the article:
The virus was identified on a variety of surfaces in cabins of both symptomatic and asymptomatic infected passengers up to 17 days after cabins were vacated on the Diamond Princess but before disinfection procedures had been conducted, the researchers wrote, adding that the finding doesnt necessarily mean the virus spread by surface.
Radiation.
CDC just like every damn thing in government is inept I dont believe a damn word coming from them OR any other branch of government!!! WHO is a China butt kisser!!!
Yes I work for a company that does this as well. It also kills anything in the air as well.
CNBC is leading the charge to keep the economy crushed. This BS story is designed to sow fear and it’s timed to to make sure the market does not recover even a little. These bastards are terrified the economy will recover before November.
Ozone would be a better choice as it would get into every nook and cranny.
Was it viable for 17 days, or could it just be detected?
WTF??????
Pretty fast study considering its the CDC. Is their conclusion based on scientific or anecdotal evidence?
It survives but is not pathogenic for 17 days. Meaning people wont get infected for that long.
Good question. Here is the study:

I don’t know, someone chime in. Under the right conditions could viruses “replicate”? Like in a sealed off small Cruise ship cabin with HVAC turned off for many days?
thanks
