Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Siegel added his voice to a growing chorus of medical, political and economic experts who are warning that the U.S. must change its approach to the coronavirus pandemic or risk doing more harm to the country than the actual disease.
"About three or four weeks from now, we're going to back off of these draconian measures because we won't be able to stay together as a society if we don't," warned Siegel on Fox Nation's "Deep Dive" on Monday.
"Federal and state officials need to start adjusting their anti-virus strategy now to avoid an economic recession that will dwarf the harm from 2008-2009," wrote the WSJ editorial board.
Kimberley Strassel, Fox News contributor and Wall Street Journal editorial board member, joined the "Deep Dive" panel to expand on this argument.
"We're dealing with an unprecedented situation here and everyone's been doing the absolute best that they can," she said, "but this is simply not sustainable."

Too late. They have already done too much damage. And just think the next time there is a rumor of another virus. It doesn’t even have to be a bad one. The stock market will crash on the rumor. Hording will begin just on the rumor. Flights will be canceled on the rumor. The press, politicians, and doctors took this way too far. And now the people are afraid. OF THEM.
By the way. We are likely to have the same number of deaths in America this year as any other. Fewer Flu deaths, car deaths and other deaths that will now be associated with corona virus. It will be a wash. Only this year there will be more suicides and of course there will be more poor people. But government workers will have their jobs and pensions.
Time for responsible adults to take this over and tell Dr. Faustus he doesn’t run the country and tell the Democrats to pound sand.

The way to stop this outrageous destruction of our economy is to pass a law that the government would have to lay off the same number of employees that the government by their decrees and edicts has caused to be laid off in private businesses. Government shrinks along with private employment.

The only rhing unprecedented about this situation is the panic and fear, it’s not the end of the world and everyone knows it.

IF I get the virus (not when), I’ll stay home a few weeks and most certainly recover because I have no preexisting conditions. Meanwhile, I will engage in productive activity with friends and co-workers, rather than cower in fear in self-imposed isolation.
Eventually people are going to tire of looking at porn and playing video games all day long.
After people refuse to stay inside their houses, the National Guard gets called out. Guess what the National Guard has? Bueller? Guns! It’s all fun and games until they start shooting. It is inevitable that guns will be used to keep people indoors. We are going to avoid overwhelming the hospitals with virus patients and end up overwhelming them with bullet wound victims.
The spoiled, syphilitic criminals spreading the disease around on purpose and their loose mothers have already divided society for two generations.
