Would take about 4 serving of tonic to get an adequate dose, I would think.

“Would take about 4 serving of tonic to get an adequate dose”
8 oz., 12 oz., 1 qt.? Any idea? Maybe it won’t help, but I like it anyhow.

Taking it for a few days won’t risk any adverse affects which are only seen after many years of use.

The theory is that the drug stops the RNA from replicating. If you have any of them in your system and you stop the drug will they replicate with vengenance. I wonder if there is a maintenance dose that he will be taking for a while, or if a maintenance dose would be effective.

“Today I got some tonic water at the store...”
Tonic has quinine. Brits used it with limes plus a couple of jiggers of gin to ward off all kinds of problems whilst getting happy in the process.

Curious. I know welders have to be careful not to inhale zinc. But you can take tablets? Hmm.

US tonic water has 83 mg quinine per liter.
It’s probably 500 mg daily for an effective dose (guessing there).
So about two gallons/day.
A more effective strategy would be to go to a liquor store, buy the tonic water powder and make it too strong.

FReegards Ride!
Are you thinking of quinine?
If you might like to learn about this effective drug which is used for a number of ailments including malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis, here is a link:
https://www.drugs.com/plaquenil.html
It is a prescription medication of course.
There are side effects and contraindications.
Other brands are Aralen, and Quineprox.
Generic names are chloroquine and hydroxy-chloroquine.
